Drove down route 100 from waterbury to route 4 in Killington and it was a beautiful drive. We stopped in Granville on national forest road 55 up to 240 and walked around the fields a little bit. The view up there was amazing! We also stopped and walked around the rocks/stream lower down the road. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a great place to visit.

Very nice campground with lots of room in campsites. This is a campground that looks like the Army Corp of Engineers built it and did a nice job of it. I found the place relaxing. It was well maintained and clean. The only reason for it not being a 5 star was the site we had was not level requiring more work than normal to level the RV.

We visited the Robert Frost interpretive trail near Middlebury. Its short--only about a mile--but takes you through some wonderfully diverse scenery, from swamp to forest to meadow, with thematically-appropriate Frost poems at various points along the way. Its a great use of 30 minutes, especially if youre stretching after a long drive.

Both Green Mountain and Finger Lakes are spectacular in their own unique ways. However, in no way are they are the same park! They are in the same administrative unit, but separated by more than 200 US miles. All that said, if youd like a real camping treat, give Hapgood Pond in Peru, VT a shot. Its simply perfect.

what the what? Did the Finger Lakes move to Vermont? what is going on? I love the Green Mountain National Forest, but Ive giving this a 1 star,because of the odd addition of the Finger Lakes of western New York - where I have never been.

Beautiful hiking trails out in the vermont green mountains. The surrounding towns are cute and quaint with plenty of bed and breakfasts. Two great ski mountains in the area for winter activities too with Mount Snow and Stratton nearby.

Lush green camping ground with lots of space between sites. Only downfall is the help/people at the ranger station. Not super helpful when it comes to exploring the surrounding area.

Took my breath away. Kids were jumping off cliffs or rocks into the most beautiful Crystal clear mountain water. Tons of laughter. Safe. Cool atmosphere. Must see.

Green Mountain National Forest is a great place BUT the Finger Lakes are in New York State some 150 miles west of where it is labeled on the map.

Beautiful place for a getaway to relax. I stayed at winhall brook campground which had all the facilities like restroom, shower accessible.

Very remote, good swimming, lots of great wildlife. Salamanders and red foxes were especially prominent along the back roads and ponds.
