Llano is probably the the most popular (and award winning) Texas wine outside of the state. Around 70% of Texas grapes come from West Texas. Llano was the first to start a winery in this region when most doubted that it could be done. The founder is a Texas Tech alum, and Llano also has the Red Raider wines sold by the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Although the winery is small its a good (and cheap) way to spend an afternoon. The tour is free and afterwards there is complimentary selection of 10 wines for tasting. However, if you want to taste their more premier wines you have to $5-10. Another side note, McPherson winery in the Depot District is owned by the son of Llano Estacado winery.

I was born and raised in Texas and I believe strongly that when possible, all Texans should support Texas companies. I try to only drink Texas wines and Texas beers and at least half of my fast food dollars go to Whataburger, a Texas company. They sell a t-shirt at the winery that says, "BRAVE TEXANS DIDNT DIE AT THE ALAMO FOR YOU TO DRINK CALIFORNIA WINE". That pretty much says it all!

Have not visited yet, but they make the most exclusive wine that I just love, like the moscato and the bliss. I lived in Texas and since I tried those two wines the are absolutely my favorite . I now live in Arizona and have not found any wine that compares to my two favorites.. I am trying to see if I can order and have them sent to me

Love it. Ive been to other wine taste such as Napa Vally. This one is small but worth a visit. We were offered a friendly and nice introduction on the Texan wines. The tough weather in west texas makes the grapes producing very unique flavors so we really enjoy the tasting section. Llano wine made our day.

I love the Llano Sweet Red Wine. I was in Texas for work and fell in love with this wine. I wish I could get it on Amazon to order by the case so I never have to run out. I would love to try other wines from here but it made it so much nicer when I worked in Texas for a few months.

Rude was the girl that found us in the room for the tour. The door was open. No signs saying we couldnt be in there. You could have been nicer and not snap at us. We left. No tour no wine. Bummer

Have not visited, but they produce the most excellent wines. Comparable to the best. Absolutely adore the sweet red and Moscato!
