We have played this course many times in the past but today was a different experience. We were held up by the starter and given a five minute oration about how to approach each green, how and where to drive on the fairways and cart paths, pace of play, etc. all of which could have been covered by "have you played here in the past?" Then all of our carts were searched for any booze brought on the property from the outside. Long story short, we were made to feel not welcome. Made te turn and got a couple beers and tipped the girl well. After the round hung out at a table outside, couple more beers. Same girl who we had tipped very well was now pissy about having to gather some empty cans off of the table. We are all F&B employees and fully understand the position of bartender, apparently this girl doesnt. We wont be back. As for conditions there were several holes literally placed on te side of a hill, perhaps the person responsible for laying out the course doesnt have a firm grasp on the rules of golf. Also had a homeowner walk out into his backyard and steal a ball belonging to one of our group. When we asked in the proshop about this guy we were told, "oh he hates golfers". Never could understand people who buy homes on the golf course and expect anything different than what they get. There are too many courses in the area to waste your time and money on an establishment that doesnt understand the customer service aspect of golf.

Breaking news: Crowdield golf has a 10 foot thick slab of concrete under every green. This course is a complete waste of time. They should pay you $50 to play this goon golf course. It is the real version of crazy putt putt. Its as if their architecture was to build houses first and then use the remaining land and put crappy holes together that are all the same; 90 degree banana dogleg holes that are absolutely ridiculous. The bunkers are also concrete and on every green there are two elephants buried under each green. Bunches of stair step greens and there is ob on both sides of most holes. Final thing... on a par three if you hit a shot one foot left of the green you will go OB. That signifies an Augusta National golf course layout. Might as well shot yourself before playing this hell hole. I now try to kill every crow I see based off this horrible experience.

This course is not for the beginner, there are multiple challenges on every hole, as soon as they finish repair on the sand traps Ill rate excellent, if you want a challenge, and like very very fast greens you have to play this course, Rob the head Pro is a Fantastic teacher and always a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this as a must play course when in the Charleston area, for intermediate to advanced golfers!

Very underrated. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the fact that you have no idea how the holes are laid out unless you PURCHASE a score card. If you chose not to purchase a card, good luck, it will add at least 5 shots to your total. Having said all that, it was a very nice, well kept course with some challenges and played a nice length. Will play again sometime soon.

Good course, great for the price. Liked the elevation changes & bunkering. Course was in good shape where you should be aiming. Few sketchy spots but these were areas I gotta quit hitting my ball into...Greens were punched a while back & still had sand on them, but they putted true if a little slow. Played the grand & pines.

Might as well play on the beach. Very dissatisfied with the condition of the greens. Nice fairways and bunkers though, but greens sorely need some proper attention.

One of my favorite golf courses in the Charleston area. There is a variety of holes and you will play most clubs in your bag.
