The service at Ye Olde Durty Bird needs a lot of improvement. For example, yesterday my mom and I stopped in for lunch. It was cloudy and gray outside like it could rain. It wasnt raining though and we like to sit outside to eat. We asked the hostesses if we could sit outside. The one said, "Yeah, but just so you know, if it starts to rain, youre on your own." I wasnt sure what that meant (can we not come back inside to one of the many open tables?) or how to respond to that and I found it to be an odd thing to say and not helpful. A different hostess led us outside. The umbrellas were not open over any of the tables. We chose a table and tried to put up the umbrella (since we would be "on our own" we thought we better prepare in case it rained...). The hostess stood there and didnt offer to put it up in the first place and didnt offer to help us put it up after we started. We mentioned that the umbrella needed a peg to make it stay open. The hostess seemed aloof and simply said, "I dont know how it works." She didnt offer to get the pegs or find someone else who could help, or do something to help... just continued standing. We let her know we were leaving to eat somewhere else and she didnt apologize or even respond. It was strange. While this is the worst hospitality experience Ive had at Ye Olde Durty Bird, this isnt the only time Ive had bad service. I can recall another time we received slow service and another time we had an unfriendly server and another time the server seemed confused and not well trained. Its unfortunate because I will say that we enjoy the food at this restaurant, its delicious (why I gave it a 2 rating and not a 1). However, customers are also paying for the service, and our overall experience with the service has not been good. With so many other restaurants downtown now, Ye Olde Durty Bird is at the bottom of our choices now.

Love the brick interior which reminds me of old, industrial buildings. Larger area but unfortunately we couldnt wait for an outdoor table. Sitting indoors was a bit chilly but thankfully I brought a light jacket. The service was friendly and fairly quick. I had the durty pulled pork which was large, probably about 8 oz of meat! The durty sauce is great, which I requested a little more for my sandwich. The cole slaw is yummy with this particular sandwich (along with a Blue Moon!). The sandwiches are large (I only ate half the meat in my sandwich and no bun) but very good. The pulled pork was extremely tender and tasty. Unfortunately we just missed the live music but I imagine this place would be great while the music is playing. We entered the restaurant at about 12 and it continually had people coming in. A bit loud but what do you expect with the brick walls and industrial ceiling and it really didnt hamper our conversation. We were going through Toledo and decided to stop and glad we did... Great food in downtown atmosphere.

Im sorry to say that this was one of the worst lunch experiences in my life. One of my favorite things to do is to have a nice lunch on a sunny porch. The food was mediocre and overpriced and our waitress was not very nice to us. I realize as a vegetarian that the world doesnt revolve around my food choices but when I pay over $11 for a crappy bun slapped with two small mozzarella slices, one tomato slice and one small black leaf of basil sprinkled-halfheartedly with gobs of vinegar because I choose to forgo the chicken well... Even if it had come with chicken it would have sucked. I feel if you pay for chicken on a salad you pay for it so it should go the other way and not pay for the chicken on a non-chicken sandwich. I could have overlooked all that horror if the server hadnt made it clear she despised us while making us wait forever for our bill while we got sadder and sadder broiling in the sun without any offer of water and it wasnt busy at all. It wasnt a very nice welcome to Toledo

I give this place 5 stars, for the fact that they dont have an elaborate 20 page menu, and try to make things they cant... This is all sandwhiches burgers and wraps. And as far as that goes thats why they get a 5. The atmosphere here is perfect during the day and at night, their beer selection isnt the best, but they have more then just the standard watered down bud light Coors light and Miller light. If stopping here, I recommend the French dip accompanied with a guiness! Its a godly experience. The prices are far from over priced and the food is far better than mediocre.. the same people who think its mediocre are probably regulars at Apple bees!

Very disappointed with the service. Stopped there after the Walleye game and the manager of the night was very rude to us after we asked about the price of some shots (which were pricey but we were still going to order a beer). However, the manager apparently though we had a issue and rudely told us we could probably afford Frickers. Then followed us outside after we left to try and justify himself. I felt very insulted & couldnt believe the service. Unfortunately that was my first and last time there.

Im going to end all of the negative comments. If you are a burger lover, you need to pay this place a visit. Probably the best burgers Ive ever had in my life. I drive 30 minutes to come to this place every chance I get and I am never disappointed. Excellent food and very friendly staff. The only complaint I have is that its sometimes hard to find a parking spot. But thats just downtown Toledo for ya. Definitey go to this place when you get the chance. You wont be disappointed!!

We stopped here during a road trip and Im so glad we did!! The outside patio is great, there were a couple other dogs there too besides ours. Manager came out and gave her a huge bowl of water and ice (though she wasnt particularly interested, she was pretty nervous & shy at first). I put my dog on my lap while we waited for food because she was acting so skittish. After that, she was totally fine and chilled under the table. Food was delicious too!!

Good food & nice waitresses. Only reason I knocked off a star is because it is VERY loud, even for a pub or bar. Not the music, the drunks. I dont find employees telling drunk customers to settle down for other customers, to be in bad business so keep that in mind Durty Bird.. These guys were YELLING & acting erratic the entire time I was there. I wasnt the only person distracted & annoyed by this.

The Bacon burger was really good for a pub. I got steak fries with the burger but chips came out. They corrected the mistake fast and the plate of steak fries was huge. Refills were a little slow but not ignored, staff was friendly. Id recommend you get here early because when the night life kicks off it will get busy.

Their sandwiches and salads are excellent. Service was friendly and attentive I got the Cuban which was so good. We ate on the covered patio. They also have more outdoor dining available with tables and umbrellas. Very nice for summer dining. I was thrilled to find they have a free parking lot. I love this place!
