It takes a lot to impress me now a day with all the art and architecture in the world at your fingertips via the web, but this place was just wow. The stone work, the landscaping, the intricate details paid to every little thing in every nook and cranny of the estate was just impressive. This place was built like a castle fortress and will clearly stand for hundreds of years. The tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable and had infinite patience with peoples questions. This estate borrowed styles from England, France, and a lot of art from all over Asia. I have been to Paris and London and this place can definitely hold its own compared to the castles and cathedrals of those cities. I highly recommend this tour but be prepared for a solid 2+ hours of walking up and down stairs... the views are worth it.

This is a great house museum. We found it interesting to see the inner domain of such a powerful family. The tour guide was also good about educating everyone about the family. The views of the Hudson from inside the house are incredible. There is a modern art museum in the basement, and a display of several of the Rockefellers carriages/cars throughout the decades. Most of the estate is still privately owned by descendants, but it was neat to be able to get a peek behind the curtain.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Theres tons of art from all genres scattered throughout the building and grounds along with an art gallery in the basement, and the view of the Hudson is lovely. The entire house is also beautiful. Tours leave from the Phillipsburg Manor, and tours are available for that separately.

A preeminent Hudson Valley landmark, Kykuit offers amazing architecture, remarkable gardens, sweeping vistas of the Hudson, and a modern art collection to rival none other. Highly recommend the Classic Tour, however if you are really there to see the interior splurg and take the 3 hour Grand Tour.

No my cup of tea as a place to visit but our tour guide was excellent. The grounds are gorgeous. The history of the house & family was interesting. We did the classic tour which was interesting & well done. If you find historic homes interesting it is worth the trip.

A wonderful tour of Kykuit. So much to take in be it family history, architecture or art. The grounds alone are spectacular .Our guide was so knowledgeable and brought to life the Rockefeller legacy. I will definitely take time for another tour in the near future.

We drove from NYC to visit, only to find that reservations are ESSENTIAL. We could not get in at all on Saturday. This fact is apparently not well known, 6 people in 15 min. were turned away. Maybe next time...
