We took our children here this morning to participate in a group kids session and had a great time. It was set up like an informal art class, right there in the museum itself. It reminded me of my art classes in my university days, except it was geared at young kids 10 and younger. The program directors, Cristina and Marta, were really fantastic. I would recommend taking your kids here for one of these sessions if you can. The sesions are conducted in Spanish and are a great tool for the kids (and parents) to meet other families and gain education in Spanish.

Contrary to the museums website or posted hours, this building is closed for the next two years. So keep that in mind before you run around the building in the pouring rain for 15 minutes trying to get in. Because you cant, and they literally cant be bothered to put up a sign saying that they are closed for two years. BONUS: When I called to ask how to get in, the woman working there told me that while they didnt post a sign in front of the building saying they were closed, I should have known about it because it was "on the news."

El Cid Campeador, by Anna Hyatt Huntington, 1927, is part of an ensemble in the courtyard of the Hispanic Society of America, which includes reliefs of Boabdil (last king of the Moors in Granada) and Don Quixote, and sculptures of animals native to Spain in marble and bronze. The courtyard is sometimes closed - check before visiting. For a detailed analysis of the Cid as a historic figure, and of this sculpture, see the Amazon app Monuments of Manhattan (video) and Durantes Getting More Enjoyment from Art You Love (Kindle).

Huge canvases of mostly religious paintings. There is a small section showing Spanish ceramics and earthenware. The museum is too dark to see signages very cleary but it was bad customer service that really ruined it for me. The female receptionist showed a lot of attitude from the get-go, gave incomplete information, and was too lazy to even man the baggage deposit room. She was on her smartphone the whole time I was there.

Over-hyped. First time we went there, we loved the cheeseburger. Other items on the menu were above average.Weve been there several times since and I must say, I find the food to be underwhelming. I eat out a LOT - 3-4x per week and not sure if we have been ordering the wrong food there but I dont find the food to be extraordinarily good. Ambience is fun, drinks are great but Id say the food is interesting but not amazing.

I have gone to this museum but I wish I would go more often esp. on Saturday when there is a tour available. Ive been on the tour and it is fantastic. The murals are great. And there is stuff from Latin America I think a silver set and paintings with shells and something on Emperor Montesumas (?) daughter marrying a Spaniard and begining meztizoism. Thank you.

Increible, yo estuve hace dos años y allí tienen unos unos murales de Sorolla impresionantes tanto de tamaño como de hermosos, los pinto Sorolla expresamente para este sitio.
