I had the most amazing time here at the Bronx Museum. I actually just stumbled upon it at the right time when I was walking around (visiting NYC for my first time). Miriam was so helpful, knowledgeable, and about the nicest lady you could meet. She was quick to inform me about the Coquito contest I was just in time for...free food and drinks plus I got to meet so many cool people! It was amazing to be able to experience real Bronxites in action and really see the community out. The Orchard Beach: The Bronx Riviera exhibit by Wayne Lawrence was inspiring and worth the trip in itself. (You can see the pics on the Bronx Museum website, but they just dont do justice to the real thing). I will surely be back for another visit ASAP. =)

The Bronx’s main museum has received much attention during the past few years due to their landmark exhibitions as well as expanded programing so theres always something to do at the space. Theyre newly opened XM Café is the perfect place to start or end your trip here as you enjoy a delicious cup of Morris Perk coffee which has become a favorite of many organizations and Bronxites. You can even pick up a bag of this amazing blend along with other items at the gift shop. Signing up to the museums mailing list is a must to keep up-to-date on the plethora of events held here. Bonus: admission is free!

A sumptuous space and one of the best contemporary art museums in the world. The spacious rooms make it a very dynamic site that can accommodate not only wide possibilities for display of artworks but also for various programming ranging from lectures to multidisciplinary workshops. This museum is always free and aims at creating an interactive experience with the urban community of The Bronx. I am proud to have been a featured writer at the Bronx Stories, which is part of the 2016 remarkable exhibit Art AIDS America.

I work in the Bronx with special needs children and we took them here for a field trip and we were very disappointed! A total of maybe 6 pieces of art work very boring and uninteresting. They need to make more of an effort. However, the staff is A1 very warm customer service and very willing to help and accommodate there guest.

The Bronx Museum a little bit of heaven where a community that has seen its trials and tribulations showcase its people. The flavor of peoples lives are home here. Those of African descent, Asian, and Latino grace and dominate the landscape. Yes it is a the beauty of life that makes BxMA so outstandingly beautiful. Enjoy!

Nada demais se você for sem um guia. É preciso entender a história do local para apreciar. Senão você não verá nada de interessante lá.

Small museum with some very relevant exhibits on social issues and the activism surrounding these issues. When I visited, there was an exhibit on the plight of a woman living in Chicago who was later deported to her native Mexico, giving a face and voice to Americas undocumented. Entrance is free.

This museum is free for the community and has a great calendar of events. The museum hosts many private and public meetings in its space in addition to educational and artistic programs directly sponsored by the museum. Check out the youth programs for school and families.

The museum is one that gives true history to what the Bronx is like. It displays the true history of the Bronx. Its a good facility for a group of people who want to hold events. They have separate rooms thats upstairs that has a balcony thats beautiful for events.

I guess I am not open-minded enough in order to come to love this place. However visiting it was a pleasure - somehow disturbing, somehow exciting and a little bit touching. I am not even sure how to express it with words. Visit and decide on your own.

All museums are nice, some are nicer than others. This one is a place I try to visit once a year, and always on a weekday. You can find weekends days that it is not that crowded, But if you want to enloy it in silent, come on a Monday morning.

A great place to visit. It just one station away from Yankee stadium and it is free to get in. I like most art pieces in there. But they close the 2nd fl when I visit. Over all it is a great place but not worth to marked as "must visit".

I work across the street from the museum is a nice place to visit and people that work there are very polite but most of all people get out and visit places that you dont normally go to meet and learn whats in your community!!

most museums are fun, and to have one right next to where you work is something you appreciate when you feel like putting the call and the emails away for a while and enjoy beauty. Not that big, but big enough.

No hay buenas exhibiciones y el pequeño espacio que tienen no lo ocupan para mostrar arte

Very under-rated. Some excellent curatorial efforts. Definitely visit for the AIM biennial and other shows are very often interesting. Not many visitors making it seem like a private gallery.

Amazing interactive pieces and an intimate size with a wide array of mediums. Try "the Bronx" salad in the café with banana chips, mango, and some sort of tasty dressing.

Classic museum. Has an air of antiquity but with a modern flair. I love this place and take my relatives there after an early Yankee game.
