I went to Mianus for the purpose of hiking this past Saturday, after my toddler woke up from her mid day nap. It took only 22 minutes from Downtown, Stamford to get to Bedford, NY. Not bad at all for a beautiful Gorge Preserve with multiple hiking trails. We started off on the Green Trail which followed the river, beautifully hidden, still, peaceful river. We then followed the Red Trail which was spaciously wooded with autumns left behind dead leaves. My daughter started getting fussy and hungry so we took the easier Blue Trail back. She hiked back most of the way, while holding my hand tightly as she stumbled occasionally. Indeed, a beautiful family hike during one late afternoon.

Hiked all the different colored paths - blue, red and green. The green one is not to be missed. A visit to the quarry is also special. The paths are well maintained.

gorgeous, woodland hike along the gorge. it took us about an hour to go from the parking lot to the end of the trail at the reservoir.

This is must a hiking place.its very beautiful with bodys of water and just amazing forest. I love it how close its from the city

Very nice moderate scenic hikes.The trails are marked and maintained very well. There were also trail maps available.
