Shout out to Groupon for once again helping me find a hidden gem that I probably would never have known about otherwise! What is mead? Well, Im glad you asked. Essentially, its honey wine. But Melovino takes mead to a whole other level with flavors such as ghost pepper. Four of us went on the tour/tasting and while there isnt much of an actual tour (the place is pretty small), the story that Sergio, the owner, tells is absolutely amazing. Melovino is the first (and only for now) meadery in NJ and family-owned/operated. Theyre won lots of awards so you know that its good stuff. Ive never had mead before but I definitely liked it better than regular grape wine! Regular wine usually gives me a headache within hours of drinking it and the hangover is the worst. However, no dehydration/hangover from mead which is awesome.

MUST HAVE. Just experiencing a taste tour will absoulety blow your mind. I am a club member and receive all new meadery every four months and I am never disappointed. Great staff and owner and this business makes your purchase feel more like family then money. I remember one time on my way to Melovino I split my pants right down the back. I called the staff and they was nice enough to bring the mead outside to my car.

My friends and I have been going to Melovino for almost a year now, it started off as just a tour/tasting, and now it has been a tradition for all of us to go there about once every couple of months. All of their meads are exceptional and they have always been super nice and friendly with us. We are always trying to spread the word of Melovino because their quality speaks for itself, definitely the best mead around!

This is the first meadary in NJ. The mead is delicious! If you enjoy sweet drinks - all mead is honey based - this is the drink for you. The tour includes a 20 minute tour of the meadary, followed by tasting of six meads. However, if you ask, the have a variety more for you to try. They have some spicy and savory mead as well and make cocktails on certain event days.

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and was greeted by the owner, Sergio. He instantly felt like an old friend as he told me all about the various Meades he had to offer. I bought a few bottles and was blown away by the quality. WOW!! Top notch. Its a gift to have such a special place in our area. Cant wait to go back.

The meade here is spectacular. If you havent had meade before, you should try it. Its wine thats made of honey, rather than grapes. Imagine very well balanced, nicely acidic white wines, like high end Riesling. Thats about the best way I can describe this Meade. The staff is super cool and the tour is really cool.

Youd never know this little meadery was tucked behind the suburban mall. The staff are friendly and the mead is excellent. I mostly prefer their sweeter meads, but the ghost pepper mead is worth a try.
