I rode my bicycle here. There was a big locked gate at 2 in the afternoon. Maybe because it was Columbus Day? Anyway, I wound up finding a trail on the right of the gate. I walked along it for about thirty minutes. On one side was a few trees and route 9W, which diminished from the peaceful nature vibe I was going for. On the other side of me about 20 feet away, a metal chain link fence went along the trail. I did see some deer which was cool. Id like to go into the park when it is open, if they ever open. If not, Id never go back.

A Nature Sanctuary close to GWB that allows members (membership is not expensive) to enjoy 165 acres on the Palisades that is trying to create an area for flora and fauna to return to a natural state. A really quiet place to enjoy and also learn about nature. Is maintained by membership fees and volunteers. See photos on Greenbrooks Facebook page. Can join online.

Greenbrook Sanctuary is a secret treasure just across the Hudson from NYC. It is a place for hiking in nature without having to travel far away from the city. Hiking trails are very well maintained and easy to follow and wildlife spottings often occur along the trail. Membership is very reasonable and well worth it for the benefit of such a lovely place to enjoy.

A beautiful, secluded piece of nature almost in my back yard. Love the diversity of habitats and wildlife. There is always something to see at Greenbrook Sanctuary. The naturalists are very knowledgeable and helpful and the place is maintained very well.

A sanctuary for sure...easy hiking paths, panoramic views of the Hudson River from high cliffs, outdoor tables for a picnic lunch, and much more. Maintained by membership fees and a lot of work by dedicated volunteers.

I love Greenbrook. Ive been a member for years. My favorite hike is B trail that goes to Greenbrook falls. Their naturalist led hikes are excellent and there are great outdoor fall and spring tai chi classes.

Highlights, 200 to 300 foot cliffs overlooking the Hudson with great views and bird watching opportunities. Only 4.7 miles north of GWB, convenient.
