I think this kinda goes without saying, but this movie theater is a piece of crap. I dont wanna come off as offensive, but ever since a certain group of people bought this theater, it hasnt been making alot of money. Mainly, because they only show a bunch of Bollywood flicks. Well there, I said it. You know what? Im right, no one besides Indians would pay money to watch this crap. News flash! Theres more than one particular ethnicity living in Edison, NJ...and they like going to the movies too! The last American movie Ive seen at that theater was Valkyrie. THAT WAS 5 YEARS AGO!!! Almost every time I drive passed the billboard, theres always some movie that I couldnt bother to pronounce and always has at least one or two American titles every three months. Im also pretty sure that they didnt even bother showing The Avengers when that came out. Go ahead and call me a racist, but that establishment is more racist than anything. They only show films catered to their own people, the staff is very funky-acting, the last time I went there it was filthy, they hardly show any film from any other country let alone from America, and when they do, it was usually a kids film. But, the one thing that really upsets me is that theres not a lower score than one star.

Does not deserve a single star either , Very rude staff , i happen to be the first one in the line and line started growing , the person who was supposed to sell tickets was in cafeteria section , i though he will come over to the ticket section , instead he was just watching the line grow and after a while he says i am blocking the people from purchasing the tickets and started talking rude. I was expecting the staff (guy) to be at the ticket counter , I did not know that tickets can be sold from cafeteria. He would have just moved to the ticket area to sell ticket instead he started scolding me for blocking the line and every one in the line were expecting this staff (guy) to move on the ticket counter as well and were waiting patiently behind me. The worst part is the manager comes over and instead of trying to understand the situation , started abusing and threatening to call cops. My kid and wife were scared to death , by this incident. Never expected a pleasant day can be ruined by such simple incidents , this place is suppose to be a happy enjoyable place and never imagined this kind attitude from a staff member and Manager as well.

I think the sound system is fine and not as bad as some people have written here. Some of the comments about screen and the staffs behavior seems to be prejudiced. I have always had a very good time at this theater, for the following reasons: 1. The staff is friendly and helpful. We must give them their due as they have a difficult task to perform. 2. The owner whenever present (which he is most of the time) is very polite and friendly. 3. The coffee is awesome to the extent, that I dont mind going to the theater only to have coffee sometime. 4. Movies played are latest, and cater for the entire Asian Indian Community. Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, English and so on is the day. For a small theater like this having all this must be appreciated. 5. And finally, it is our own community cinema that has been serving the community needs for almost two decades. The owner is improving the things every single time, and I am sure in near future it will give its competitors run for their money. All that he needs is our support, which as a community is our obligation too.

I went to see the movie, The Drop, staring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini, James last film. Ill give Big Cinemas credit for having a smaller release film. The $8 adult admission on a Friday night is a welcome change but the theater has some deal breakers, most noticeably is the sound quality in theater #2. It sounded like there was only one speaker and it was on its last leg. The sound was really bad and it made everyone sound monotone. It was like a having a bad cell phone call for 90 minutes. I sat in the back of the small theater, so I got to hear the old school projector noise in conjunction with the speaker noise. After reading reviews I feel like Im not alone in rating this theater. If they make changes to the sound quality Id return but until then Im seeing films elsewhere. I really liked the movie, The Drop, I went to see so Ill be buying it on blu ray when it comes out.

I wanted to write this review a while back. However ,I had a bad experience recently which pushed me to write this. Pros They play indian movies..thats the only thing I like about this theatre. Cons tickets prices are way high. rest room cleanliness is the worst thing you can expect in USA. I seriously doubt the quality check of NJ government. we went to Bhagubali movie of tamil version (10/07/2015) , the ticket counter lady told us that shows are cancelled out. Only telugu version is going on. If they decide not to show tamil version then why the hell you show it in Web sites. due to this so many of us planned and gathered from various places in fine evening of friday. Freaking experience. .The lady at counter never bothered and feel like asking an apology for what had happened. I will try to avoid this BIG CINEMAS as much as possible.

I was surprised when I saw big cinemas near phily (not so near, around 80 miles) and it shows all indian movies. I was thrilled as I was waiting to watch tamil movies after long time. But the experience is one of the worst movie going experiences I had in lifetime. The screen is small, just like a home theater, the seating shape is L (how on earth one can build a auditorium like that), White screen was somewhat white with ugly patches, forget about DTS / DOLBY, even the BGM is pathetic.. I would have got better experience with torrent downloads and watching it on Laptop. You pay $10 for ticket, 6 for a small popcorn, 6.5 for 2 samosas... but it is not worth even a penny... If you have extra money to spend, donate to some NGOs instead of paying these ******.. Hate you Ambani

Poor front desk customer care/not professional/ no help if needed. Liked this place and visited alot "almost every week" and never put review like no news is good news :) No complaints even small screen, expensive tickets, expensive food/drinks that you have to buy thr. only. a few days ago I visited again and asked a question when I asked 2nd time the lady Bombed at me and almost willing to attack by words "I explained you 1 time why are you asking same thing again and again" that was a not a professional we are also in to service industry and most of the time ppl. come and ask 100 questions and out of 100 question 25 answers we have to repeat.

Went to watch a hindi film with the family. The cinema is fairly small, with only 6 screens and 2 columns of seats. The staff was approachable and obliged my request to turn down the AC. They were apparently running an event because ,there was an older gentleman singing classic hindi songs in the lobby. The audio was acceptable, although it was too loud for comfort in the first row. The theater was clean. There was no cellphone signal in the theater, but it worked fine in the lobby. Overall I enjoyed my time here, and could see myself coming again.
