We took our sister-in-law and niece there for dinner on Saturday night having made a reservation. We were very disappointed in the lack of service and food. It took us 15 minutes after sitting just to get water poured and even longer to get a kids menu. It took another 10 minutes to see our waitress for the first time and find out that they were out of three entrees. My water glass sat empty. At least they brought the kids meal with the soups. The bread was hard and my husbands steak was undercooked (medium-rare was colder and completely red inside and he is not one to leave steak on his plate). We were there for over 2 hours but not due to a leisurely dining experience controlled by us.

My friends and family having been coming to the Canoe Club for many years. It is our go-to restaurant for visitors and family celebrations as well as casual spur-of-the-moment dinners out. The food is the best in Hanover/Upper Valley and the service is always "just right" - never hurried but never slow, just personal enough to be warm and welcoming but never too invasive. The food spans so many cuisines in such a simple but creative way. Hats off to John and his staff! We look forward to the many meals to come.

A decent spot in Hanover, food is always fine, place is fine, music is nice to have, which they often do. The biggest con about this place is the owner: John Chapin. He makes the rudest remarks to customers and employees and is completely inappropriate. Inexplicable behavior, and completely unacceptable. Hes unaware that his "gift for gab" is a complete turn-off, and is keeping customers away. Too bad he cant get out of his own way.

Upscale-casual atmosphere. The entire experience is smooth and relaxed - you can tell the team has experience. The food is good, but could use a little more flavor creativity for the price. The restaurant transforms from restaurant to bar with a slight "club" feel around 10pm most weekends. Its a very popular nightlife location for townies, tuck students, and business travelers alike.

Ate here on Mothers Day, food was pretty much awful. Lobster stew was gray colored, the meat was tasteless and stringy, I couldnt even finish it and I devour anything lobster. Daughter had the Mac and cheese, it was ziti with a mustard color paste, zero flavor. Wife had steak frites, it was tan looking leather. Waitress was pleasant, will not return.

Good cocktails, and a great selection on tap. The food is typically great, but it doesnt feel like the step up in quality that you would expect for the price difference from options in town like Mollys or a quick drive away at Three Tomatoes or Stellas.

I always have a hard time choosing something from the menu because everything looks so good. Ive been many times and never had a bad meal and service is always very friendly and efficient. This place has a lot of regulars for a reason.

locale caratteristico con cucina tipicamente americana, ricercata. Molto cortese e gentile il personale.

I used to love to go to the Canoe Club. Unfortunately, not anymore. I tried three times since back in town and it was such a disappointment, from presentation to the flavorless food. So sad.

This used to be a great place to go have dinner but now it is the best place to get heroin.. From the head chef to the dishwasher.. Food gross, service awful.. Wont ever return..

The place has some draw to it with a decent selection of farm to table foods and a good selection of beers on tap. It can be child friendly but certainly not inexpensive.

One of the best restaurants in Hanover, with the best bar. The back room has great couches for hanging out and enjoying a drink with friends.

The Canoe Club has excellent food and decent service but you will most likely need a reservation in order to get seated without a wait.

They cancelled my fathers 60th birthday party 15 minutes before our reservation. Enough said. Please do not go here

Food not cooked properly. Monotone singer. Wait staff was fine. All in all, there are better choices nearby.

Used to be better with the old chef who is now at Elixir in WRJ. Used to be my favorite place in Hanover!
