Absolutely my favorite venue for LIVE music. Whether in a group or by myself I feel completely comfortable. The "no cell phone pics" usage makes it a more pleasant experience for everyone (so abide by it, yall). They reach out to bring in many "nontraditional" performers and artists. One minor drawback: add a second cashier to the beverage line - its too slow and inefficient. Other than that, HIGHLY recommend this venue to all in-and-out-of-Towners. Thanks!

This venue will always have a place in my heart. Ive been to a wedding reception here, a memorial for a friend, and a few shows. The Cedar is always bringing such a diverse array of music, and its located in my favorite part of Minneapolis. The place has the layout of an old single room theater, with plenty of standing room, and a big spacious patio. They also sell drinks and snacks, and any venue that sells Kul chocolate is a five star venue to me! ;)

I saw a really good band there, but the facilities are sub-standard. The temperature was stifling, and I had sweat running down my face just sitting there. It was so hot, for so much of the concert that it made it very difficult to enjoy. The restrooms are also very dirty, and there are not enough of them to reasonably support a full crowd.

This is a great venue that is all about the music. The room sounds good and the audiences are almost always quiet and respectful - this is not a place where people are shouting over the music or are more interested in their next beer than the band. The energy can be a bit sleepy, but I usually love shows at the Cedar.

This place is fun to see a performance in. Ive seen a lot of interesting acts playing here, but havent been to add many as Id like. Parking can be a bit of a pain though, so youre better with transit, a car, or walking. Friendly, welcoming staff here, so it makes for a good experience.

Interesting place if youre into spoken word or art stuff. The WORST place to see a live band perform. Way under powered as far as sound and the lighting effects, well.... there werent any. The sound guy at one point flickered the house lights for an effect.

One of my favorite places to go in the Twin Cities for live music...Ive discovered the Handsome Family and The California Honey Drops there...the staff is most welcoming...and the Cedar is a great amenity for equitable access to MSP citizens and visitors...

One of the best sounding rooms Ive ever heard music played in. The acoustics are very warm and clean. Been to several shows and the seating arrangements change for every gig. Highly recommend seeing a show here.

This is perhaps the best place in the US for World music, and also all genres of American music. They have almost 365 concerts/ a year! I have seen Tom Rush folk, Irish, Finish fiddlers, senegal, South Africa

Great place!! Always a fun variety of shows throughout the year. Volunteers staffing the events are always happy to be there. A deduction of .25 for only having two stalls in the womens bathroom.

Cool venue, and they occasionally get great up-and-coming artists to visit. It would be a great place to have season tickets and discover new acts that you may not have heard of before.

Great little venue to see a show. Saw Andy McKee here. This was the perfect venue for a show like this because the size made you feel like you were upfront and closer to the artist.

Liked how the stage and seating were close, giving the concert an intimate feel. Wasnt so crazy about the concession. Bathrooms could use a little maintenance.

The feeling of a smaller venue, fab staff that know their music, good acoustics for shows with places to sit and enjoy the acts. Check out the calendar.

Cool place. Historic part of the Cedar Riverside neighborhood. Fun for concerts. Expensive beer and snacks though, but most places are for live music.

Okay seating for the show I saw. It was an intimate size and arrangement but hard to see the stage because the seats are all on the same level.

Neat little theater in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. This isnt the nicest venue in the Twin Cities but it allows for intimate shows.
