Last night my wife and son went to see a performance by The Unknown Hinson . The show and supporting acts were fine but I was floored by the rudeness of the waitstaff. We ran out of cash because we bought merchandise from the band ( it helps to support live music) and my wife bought a second round of drinks on her debit card after the first round the waitress wanted her to start a tab and leave her credit card at the bar. She didnt want to because we have had our card accounts compromised twice in the last year. She was informed that it "wouldnt be worth it" to the bar to charge any more drinks . Beers her are 75 cents more than other venues and there is a $1.00 transaction fee for each purchase. My recent college graduate and unemployed son used his card to purchase a drink, tipped 20% and was also berated publicly by the bartender for the size of his tip.On top of this the air quality was so poor and my eyes began to water during the main act. Unless the act you want to see is never going to play any where else I would avoid this like the plague. Ill stick to the Magic Bag, Magic stick and Crofoot for my small venue visits

This place brings in a lot of classic and new bands that other venues seem to overlook. I was as skeptical as everyone when they began booking more national tours several years back. No longer the dive bar it once was, they are still adding improvements. All of the bad comments here from either ignorant or misinformed people about not paying bands seem to be from one night. I was one of the 10 or 12 people there that night. The owner was genuinely upset about the turnout and seemed horrified that he was short on cash. Instead of giving the guy a chance to make good, (which he did within 12 hours) they had their friends retaliate with a flurry of bad reviews. There are too few good music venues around. We need to support them, before they all turn into sports bars.

I dont know what it is... Ive been to many, many shows at tons of venues in my life, and this one just rubs me the wrong way. The sound/lights guy apparently didnt know how to turn off the projector once, resulting in Cattle Decapitations Travis Ryan performing with a parrot projected onto him for half the show... I overheard the sound guy and his co-workers trash-talking a couple local bands (who, according to them, didnt know how to use their equipment...) which really turned me off to the place. On top of that, their water is incredibly overpriced. Im sure their regular drinks are, too. They also have a very strict "no re-entry" policy. Its a good thing they bring in big names, otherwise I would never go there again.

Been there for the first time @Amorphis/Swallow The Sun this Friday. I cannot compare to any other american venues as I moved to the US just a couple of days ago. But: This "Hall Of Fame" at the walls reminds me of a Club in Germany (Colossal/Aschaffenburg). Nice! Just besides. The staff was very kind and the metal people in general there gave us a warm welcome. Sound was a lil bit unsteady but mainly good. As a lots of others complained already: The drinks are quite expensive, so its just 4 Stars. But well come back for sure!

Went to see a friends band and saw two bands that night. While the bands were quit good the sound system was not. The Token Lounge needs to do something about the pervasive musty smell in the bar area. The womens bathroom was clean and new according to my wife while the mens bathroom was a disaster area. None of these problems would have mattered if they didnt charge a steep door charge or the exorbitant beer prices. I just feel if they charge that much they could do a little cleaning around the bar.

We went to The Token back in the 90s fairly regularly. It was an awesome place to see bigger metal bands in a small place. Still the same today. We saw Prong there a few months ago and just went back for Texas Hippie Coalition. Great place for a metal show. Beers priced like chain restaurants, which is fine in my opinion. Definately recommend this venue.

Ive been there one time for a show and will be attending again in April (Im in Canada) seriously had one of the best nights ever. The guy at the door was a bit of a bonehead, but could have been having a bad day. The pay to "play bands" werent great, but not awful. Staff was amazing.

One of the last of a dying breed The Token Lounge offers some great name acts in a up close atmosphere. Not a fancy place at all but it does serve up some killer acts that might not otherwise be accessible to hard core fans. The owner was a real nice dude as well! Horns up!! m/

Bands seemed to be treated unfairly even though they had quite a crowd. Alot of complaining about management on the patio. I was punished for being a designated driver by being charged $4 for a 16.9 oz bottle of Ice Mountain. Standard pricing. Probably not going back.

Local imfamous showcase. Bait and switch adding 5$ on door for show. 4$ for a bottle of PBR, ok sound and strange acts come through floating that second star. Smoking patio and can order AMAZING pizza from down the block at Krustyz pizza.

Horrible, absolutely horrible service. Paid money for a show and it was cut off cause of time. This place sucks, dont recommend it at all. Go some place else, beer is over priced too. Wish I didnt have to give any stars. You suck!

When you break your commitment and screw over a hard working band to selfishly pocket the money, you arent someone I trust to have my interest in mind when I walk through the doors. Please dont patronize such tools.

Rad little hard rock / metal concert venue. Ive seen quite a few larger acts on this stage and theres not a bad view in the house. The bar has an alright selection of bottled beers, including some good craft brews.

Went and seen Alestorm here, its just like any other night club concert venue. Dirty bathrooms covered in graffiti and sticky beer covered floors. Otherwise great venue.

Good venue for a show, but drinks are overpriced. Drink beer not liquor here (I am a light weight had 4 rum and cokes and felt more sober then when I walked in)

When bands turn people out & perform here, why stiff them? Tired of businesses misusing artists for their own gains. Dont support this establishment.

I paid to get in to see a friends band and they didnt even get 30 minutes to play. Drinks are overpriced - $4 for a bottle of water for example.

I like the venue. The bar is kind of dingy and way over priced. But I like to support local music so I have been going here for many years.
