The vibrancy of the Zen community here is truly one of Worcesters best kept secrets. In too many places the closest Zen community with genuine transmitted teachers is hours away. Here in Worcester we are extraordinarily lucky enough to have not one but two Roshi in residence and a lively community of practitioners. One of things that stands out the most to me about the Worcester Zen Community is how much lightness and laughter characterize the people and the project. This is truly the home of the laughing Buddha. The WZC offers daily sitting periods, regular instruction for beginners, several extended retreats throughout the year, and regular one-on-one meetings with the teachers.

The Worcester Zen Community is a highly recommended practice center. If you are experienced in Zen practices you will find this center to be well established with a strong and committed Sangha. If you are new to Zen, or just curious you will find this a most welcoming place to learn. The guiding teachers, Melissa Blacker and David Rynick will go out of their way to help you get started. Check it out. You will be glad you did.
