If you want the best 360 deg view that encompasses the Boston skyline, lighthouses, speeding boats and ships, the Hull peninsula, etc, this is the place to go. Wonderful old military bunkers going back to the Revolutionary War, and used until 1947 to protect the sea entrance to Boston. The only real setback is that graffiti "artists" come from all over to deface the old Fort, often right after a great effort has been put in to clean the old graffitti. If you cant find it, look for one of the highest points in Hull (Telegraph Hill) and a total water storage tower that looks like a lighthouse. The view is worth the effort.
Its a beautiful location, but the state of the fort is SHAMEFUL. It seems to be the place where all kids go to smoke pot and tag. The tagging is completely unchecked by any kind of police patrol. Anywhere else this would make me feel that it was dangerous, but because its Hull I know its just Hull High kids being idiots. It isnt dangerous, but it isnt all that it should and could be for the town.
The crumbling fort is pretty cool, but the best part about this park is the view! Climb those crumbling stars, get up on top of the fort and let your breath be taken away. It is truly one of the most beautiful views Ive ever seen. Its really sad that the locals have graffitied the fort, but I guess thats part of its charm
This place used to be awesome, and still is relaxing, but sh*theads have put graffiti all over this historic area and it detracts from the awesomeness it used to be. Its a popular teen hangout...although when we were teens going there we didnt tag the place up in spray paint :/
I will say the view is spectacular. But if your going there to experience the Fort itself, its run down, grass and weeds have taken over. The town of Hull should just fill it in because they have negleted it so badly. They should be extremely ashamed of themselves. Pretty sad
I would spend hours there and imagine how it was years ago before it got all messed up and imagine how many people came through here enjoying it. Possible War times and they used it as a fort. I enjoyed going there for quiet times when I had a lot of think about.
Great park. The fort ruins FASCINATED me. Graffiti, while morally questionable, was incredible to look at. It was very immersive and lots of it was very interesting. I think this is the best way to see what the youth generation is thinking.
Nice views of Boston harbor to the north including the Boston lighthouse. Interesting old fort that unfortunately has been vandalized. Would be nice if one day the tower structure could be opened to visitors.
This place is pretty cool. The view is amazing and the fort is fun to explore. Its a shame that there is so much graffiti and litter inside, although some of the graffiti is kind of cool.
This place is amazing. I could have spent all day here taking photos of the amazing graffiti and exploring the grounds. Ill definitely be coming back. Make sure you bring a camera!
Ive been here once for a class trip this place is awesome. Im into creepy stuff so this is a good place to go and experience a good historical landmark with a background
Disgusting broken down and unmaintained. . Graffiti hypodermic needles and condoms and a dead bird! Dont take children here. Sad that this is national park. Shameful.
I would not go out of my way for the park, but if you find yourself in Hull it is worth a look. The views are amazing and, outside of graffiti, it is well kept.
Good place to go to view the water and walk around the forts. Make sure to use some type of tick repel spray and bug spray though because the bugs lurk here.
It was interesting to see for the history aspect of it, but the site is very rundown and not maintained. They have a very big issue with graffiti tagging.
Great place to walk around with awesome view of the ocean. Its newly painted after the whole place was littered with graffiti prior to painting
Historical, great views of Boston Harbor, and communities surrounding Hull. Worthy of a drive there if you are in Hull for a few days.
How is this place not condemned yet? A bunch of punks took over, trash and graffiti everywhere. Shame on the DCR.
Freakin awesome place creepy and cool all in one just a shame with all the vandalism that happen to this place
Literally Helped Save My Life; Amazing Views....Faces Americas First Lighthouse. A Hidden Gem!
Great view of Hull and Boston Harbor. Near Hull Life Saving Museum and Nantasket Beach.
Loved it, sad to see all the graffiti but some of the artwork was beautiful.
Besides the glass on the ground, it amazing and deffinitly a place to visit!
Great place to enjoy sunset sunrises and a place of history.
