"You have to have a baby or a dog to come here!" One pleasant retiree walking his Golden Retriever warned me. This park has miles of paved trails that are great for walking a stroller around, biking, or even just walking. They border the Back River, and you can enjoy beautiful views and wildlife on your walk. The park used to have no leash requirement, which was good and bad for non-dog owners, since you always get a few bad apples with out of control mutts running loose. However, due to those apples, the park now requires dogs to be leashed. Much of the trails are shaded, making it the perfect place for a sunny day. Theres also a picnic area with tables and benches down along with historical plaques. There are no bathroom facilities or port-a-potties along the trail, however.

Excellent place to bring a dog for an off leash walk. The visitors are generally kind, most people pick up after themselves, and the park rangers politely enforce the rules but are pretty reasonable.

Kind of boring as far as wooded parks go. Not much terrain. Lots of new growth forest. Nice to be by the water, but otherwise not much to write home about.

Nice ocean views, nice wide paved trails, wide-open spaces. Great for strollers, groups, and leashed dogs. Kind of boring but pretty.

Good place for walking. Shouldnt have passed that law that requires dogs on leashes. Good for kids to ride bikes.

Great park that encourages off leash dog walking. Friendly people and a refreshing, nearly 2 mile loop.

Been going here for 27 years, I wish they still had the green tower. I love this place good memories.

Lots of places to walk to with no cars to bother you. Has history of being an ammo factory during ww2

There is very limited signage. Paths and roads are long and little to help orientate where you are.
