I went to acushnet saw mill one day recently with my two children. We had a good time. We went today for the second time and we were approached by a man on the trail in the back. The man asked if we saw anybody throwing rocks. I said " No I havent. We just got here and we walk right back here down this path. We were feeding the ducks." He says thats ok but am I sure I havent seen anybody? I say yes again. I asked if he worked there because quite honestly, being approached by a man in the woods when I am with my children is making me nervouse. He said he volunteers and the camera caught somebody throwing rocks. So I tell my children to exit the way we came back. I didnt want to be in the woods with a strange man. As I am walking back a woman approaches me and tells my children and I to " stay on the path" and asks if we are the family who is feeding the ducks. I say "yes we are" " do you work here too" She says " kind of" Then goes on to say how it is not good for the ducks and we shouldnt do that and she "chased an entire family out of here last week because they were doing things to harm the ducks". Meanwhile, I am exiting the park and the woman is talking behind my head the entire time. I asked her for her name and she wouldnt give it. I told her that I wanted to report her to the parks department because she is a rude volunteer and is chasing us out of the park as well. Then she begins to yell at a couple of children about riding their bikes. I asked for her name again and she said she will only give me her name if I give her my license number. And then SHE TOOK MY PICTURE ON HER PERSONAL PHONE. They totally made us feel as if we were doing something wrong. We only wanted to enjoy nature walk together on a nice day. I understand if there are rules to feeding the ducks. The last thing we want to do is hurt a living creature. There was a sign that I didnt notice but there were none throughout the stream or near the water. This woman was short with red hair and super rude. Beware of the beast at the Acushnet Saw Mill. She will chase you right to your car as she did me. What a shame.

What a beautiful place to take a walk. So close to the city and yet you feel like youre a million miles away. My only criticism would be that there isnt a trash receptacle anywhere on or near the property.

It is a very nostalgic place. Being from the area and knowing the story of The Sawmill and how far it dates back is very intriguing. It also is a beautiful place to take a walk around and take some pictures

Its a wildlife reserve with trail and beautiful scenery. Theres a tiny learning center, a river, a pond, and kayak/canoe launching port. I love how quiet it is here.

Lightly place for a little stroll with the kids. A small reserve, but many different habitats to explore. Loved the herring festival in the spring.
