Woodlands is a well designed and challenging course. Maybe a little too challenging for beginners. While usually well maintained, it can get a bit rain soaked at times. It has a very good mix of long and short par 4s, the par 3 are reasonable length (none over 200 yards). If I have a knock on the course, it would be greens of only average pace (if they made them faster, the course would be wonderful) and nearly unreachable par 5s except for the very longest hitters. I have played the course many times so I know where to hit it off the tee (position and lay ups). First time players might be a little daunted by some blind tee shots (and the second shot in #13), but after a few rounds, it is a good challenge for good players. If the course were in country club condition, it would easily be 5 star.

Woodlands is an excellent experience and worth the greens fees. The bunkers in particular stand out as exceptional. I rate it 4 stars out of 5 due to some minor issues: the fairways and greens are in decent shape, but not terrific, the cart paths arent smooth, and the carts themselves are gas-powered mongrels that are beginning to show their age. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and one I imagine Ill be repeating.

Course was in descent shape but pace of play was brutal. I suffered through a 4 hour 45 minute round on a Sunday morning, and when I asked the pro shop staff if that pace was normal, they shrugged and said, "yeah, thats about right."

Woodlands is one of the best in the area for the price and I have never had a slow round at the Woodlands. The greens were aerated the day I played but the tee time was discounted and aeration is a fact of golf.

I played it today and it was in awful shape. The fairways had little to no grass. Also the fringes were chewed up. Very disappointing. With that being said, the staff in the clubhouse and grill very nice.

Hilly course with small, well-manicured greens and good fairways. A challenging course due to undulating putting surfaces.
