The alternate home of the Baltimore Symphany Orchestra, this underappreciated gem is easily accessible via metro, off the DC 495 Beltway, and I-270. Weve never had a bad seat regardless of where we have sat. The sound seems amazing to me but Im not the best judge of that. Weve seen a variety of shows there to include Gospel, Vivaldi, Bach, Ballet and Jugglers 4X4, and John Lithgow. They seem to bring in a wide variety of performances to meet a spectrum of tastes to suit their audiences. We often take my partners mom who is in her 70s. Strathmore offers free (tips are allowed) golf cart rides from the parking garage to the front door of the concert hall. There are plenty of elevators and seating in the atrium spaces if wanted or needed. There is a cafe and a bar if you choose to eat or drink before the show. I recommend backing into the parking spot in the garage to enable exiting a little bit easier. Bring your patience for this part, there is no easy solution when everyone wants to leave at once and needs to funnel out onto MD-355.

The hall is absolutely a great place to listen to music. Everything else about the place sucks! The food on offer from Ridgewells is dreck worthy, at best. The ushers are generally imbeciles who have no idea how to treat persons attending events there. The people who attend concerts there are mostly just this side of death. This all leads me to concluding that the house management is apparently clueless. Montgomery County needs to get real professionals in leadership roles there, and they need to demand that the hall is filled every night by people of all ages.

Excellent music hall and music education center. Free parking on weekends. Ridgewells Catering has the concession for cafeteria style "dinners" and light meals. We had dinner on Saturday evening and the dinner portions were the size one would expect on an airliner in tourist class. Each dinner cost $16. They were very tasty but a little sparse. We expected better. Next time we will probably bring our own supper.

Beautiful concert hall with superb acoustics hosts the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic and famous musical performers from around the world. Parking in the nearby Metro Garage is included in the price of the ticket. This venue is a gem.

I have been to the Strathmore several times for concerts and have enjoyed them all immensely. The building is clean, has great views, and the seating is very comfortable. I have not yet eaten at any of the restaurants, but the menu looks delicious.
