The trails are beautiful. However, expect a primitive experience. This is very much a walk in the woods with some trail markers. We went in mid may and the deer Flys were absolutely unbearable. Either way it is very much worth the drive from baton rouge proper. A great hike with not too far of a drive. 4 out of 5 would hike again.

Beautiful area with 4 miles of good trails. The Amite river overlook is a little over grown but the rest of the trails are well maintained.
