According to the Dubuque Visitors Guide 2013, this museum is free (pages 13 and 34). There is a cost for non-members. I know the volunteer asked us for six dollars each. She was unable to run my debit card for some reason so she let us go in for free. She gets five stars - excellent customer service. I am glad that we didnt have to pay, though. There is incredibly little to see in the museum, at least on the day we visited (11/13/13). They had a few works by Karen Kurka Jensen, which were very nice and a few by Grant Wood. They had fewer still works by a handful of other artists. All the artworks are in two small rooms and a short walkway on the second level. There was a much bigger room, but it was being repainted and was empty of artwork. Why charge anything when half the museum is closed off? If the volunteer had been able to run my card, I probably would have asked for my money back.

We go to the museum for kids programs a few times a month. They have a few small gallery spaces and switch the exhibits every few months. The staff is very friendly and the space is elegant.

The photos were nice but it isnt a museum but rather a gallery for a few artists. Very small and not much for information or history on the art/artist

They have a pretty interesting collection of art from Grant Wood. When I was there they have a very good traveling collection.

Small gem of an art museum with staff that are so friendly and warm that youll want to chat instead of look.

That is a great little museum. What makes it great is that it is well curated.
