I have only visited once... late in the summer season. Big tip: visit in the *spring* as the river water is usually higher. In the fall, everyone in my party were grounded a few times and had to drag the canoes. If you are a city slicker as myself and want a taste of "roughing it," then this is perfect. The facility provides everything youll need on your trip which is basically a canoe or kayak, life jacket, and oars. Everyone in my party brought a backpack with his/her own lunch or snacks. On my visit, the water was low and slow, plus the weather was extremely hot and humid. We all opted for the "full day trip" and were extremely exhausted by the end of the journey. The "half day trip" (about four hours) would have been enough. Honestly, you can pull ashore anytime, so the half day trip can be made to last longer if desired. I think this would be much more fun in the spring the the temps are cooler and the water is a little more rapid. I hope to have the opportunity to try it again.

There was 15 of us, we were minding our business for 20 min off to one side and a manager came out and yelled at us that we were in the "pre-registration area", despite the fact we were more than 40 foot from the sign and there were no others even at the location. As we ended our trip 14 canoes and kayaks only 3 people were helped out of the watercraft also despite the fact there was plenty of staff to help. Some flipping water bottles. I ended up getting out of my kayak walking up and putting all my gear away and nobody even touched it there were still the same 4 guys with 2 canoes that arrived long before I got to the shore. 4 of us were corporate level customer service managers and this was obviously not a strong suit on the part of this business. I will write for someone who is trying, successful, and someone who could step it up and they could step it up. Will the 15 of us each spend $40 again to go kayaking, yes this was our first time. We just wont do it here.

Wow! Went Memorial day weekend, and despite it being insanely busy, the service and experience could not have been better. We paid for them to haul our canoe to the launch site and all I had to do was pull my car up. They took the canoe off for me and loaded it on to the trailer behind the bus. They loaded at least 50+ people on two buses and drove us to the launch point. Thought it would be packed on the river with that many people taking off at the same time, but we spread out quickly and it was perfect the whole time. Great place to float! Nice wide river and a good leisurely pace. They have some campgrounds nearby too - will have to come back and try that out.

Definitely going back. We went with two other couples. It was super relaxing and so beautiful. We took the 7 mile trip. Someone helped us into the water and out also. Only complaint it that we couldnt figure out where to purchase an IN fishing licenses close. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy the nature while canoeing or kayaking. Like I said we will definitely return over and over.

Kayaking on the Blue was a lot of fun. None of the people in my group had gone for many years. Staff was not friendly. No instructions. No good luck. They put us in our boats and drove away. No one at the ramp where we take the boats out either. We just got out of our boats, drug them up the ramp, and left. Enjoyed the trip but expected better customer service.

Basically, the whole city center at the bridge is dedicated to the Cave Country Canoe outfitters. They have an efficient system of moving lots of people through the paperwork and onto either a bus to go upriver for the 1/2 day trip or to put in the water for the full day trip. There are enough teenagers around to help with vests, boats, hauling coolers, etc...

Destroys quality of living in small town community for profit. Pollutes local drinking water and desecrates the natural beauty of the blue river. Attracts diverse groups of crude vacationers who disrespect citizens by being intoxicated, using foul language, and on more occasion than one, have intercourse right out in the open.

Not a bad experience with the company. Its worth mentioning that I got a nasty infection in my finger (paronychia) that doesnt seem to respond to the antibiotics Im taking. I suppose its possible that this infection came from another source but I am suspicious. Bring some hand santizer. Try not to get the water in your mouth.

Nice, relaxing, pet friendly, plus military gets free rental (for kayaks at least). A bus takes you from the place you pay and its about a 15 minute ride to the dropoff where you get your kayak/canoe. They even help you load your kayak/canoe into the water! Yes, you are aloud to bring a cooler onto the bus and also your dog!

Beautiful place, and great service by the company. The other floaters littered, drank, smoked all sorts of stuff and cussed the whole way down the river, making it not a super kid friendly activity. We did go on a Saturday and I know people party but there just isnt much human decency left in this world :(

Did not enjoy sitting around for an hour waiting on the shuttle. After an all day paddle, the very last thing on my list is wanting to wait for an hour just to leave. Best part is it wasnt our fault, the guides had to take our oars to try and find someone who took WAY too long to get down river.

I would highly recommend this place! I drive from Louisville, KY which is about 30 minutes away at least twice a year. I have been here 6 times and is well worth the trip. If you are military, your rental is FREE! Great river and they support the troops so I will be back every year!

Kayaking was a blast, great river and beautiful scenery! Only complaint is get there early. We reserved our kayaks, but it still took us over 30 mins to register because of the lack of organized lines. Everyone kept cutting in, etc.

I love how the town of Milltown and the people of the Cave Country canoes make it a wonderful experience. So beautiful that I have moved to Milltown to be a happier family. Love you all.

Absolutely loved ever minute of kayaking here. Definitely worth the ride and if you have time, camp in the provided area for the night. Military discounts are given here as well!
