I grew up in that neighborhood in the late 60s,great pool.hot summer afternoons we would wait for the pool to open,mu mother would sign me up for the after school activities,great place to growup they froze the fields in the winter for ice skating.have lots of great memories,all the neighborhood kids,lined up for the pool to open.I learned how yo swim in that pool.I. now live about 10 minutes from waikikiyes better than a pool.But good memories of Welles park pool are way better.they had wonderful afterschool programing remember,taking ballet and tap dancingthey offered a great sports program.I spent a lot of time at that parknice playgroundtoo! Hornet park was too far.I lived across the street only a few minutes walk.my mother could keep track of where I was,I remember when that opened that big fieldhoise.cornfield a small park they utilized the space well for all the activities they offered.most everything was free PR a small fee for the ballet or tap classeswe had to buy the shoesand clothes.at the end of the session they put on a show to showcase what we did.alwaysa safe place e to hang out with your friends afterschool or in the summer waiting for the pool to open.

This is a huge park! During the warmer weather, there seems to be events happening all the time at this park. I know there are free movie showings here once summer officially hits. Ive been here once for such an event, and its an interesting experience. There are definitely lots of space to play a game of soccer, Frisbee, or whatever your heart desires. You can even sit around and talk at the multitude of tables, chairs, and benches all around this place. There are lakes and ponds around too if youre looking for something serene to star at. This is definitely an enormous and yet clean place located right in Welles Park.

Very busy city park. Has a crepe stand on north east corner. New, fenced in. childrens park on northwest corner. Park needs some TLC. Homeless live 24/7, on west side benches and bus stops. Flowers/shrubs are almost all dead. Litter/graffiti cleanup is rare. Large, ugly shipping containers stored in middle of park. Beware of large flock of messy pigeons on southwest corner. Avoid entitled little league parents blocking sidewalks during summer. Watch out for dog owners who allow large dogs off leash.

When I go to the pool if I want to go to the deep end I have to do a swim test even though Ive been to the pool before the new life guards and I did the swim test the wrong way and the life guard with the white cap told me to come up and he said do you know what I said in a angry voice AND the day before I did the swim test by my self and told him the next day and said I NEVER SEEN YOU SO STOP LYING. Crapes a lot, you jerks who feed the pigeons on the south west corner of the park. Dogs frenzy over the winged rats, they scatter in the air and land on Jerrys hat. Old men gather like moss on the walking path facing Western Ave. The slither around like salamander dragons eyeing you suspiciously. Big green gazebo like an emerald Chinese wedding ring. Indoor pool. Indoor Gym. Diamonds of dirt in the grass. Regrets.

My daughter loves the playground at Welles Park. There is so much equipment to choose from she never gets bored, she gets tired first:-) Plus the park is always filled with lots of kids to play with. The pool inside is very clean and the coaches that teach the kids swimming classes are very nice. If you have kids, this is a park to check out. Parking note: youll find parking on the north and west sides of the park.

Welles park is a great place for Little League baseball games and little league softball game however one of the reasons why Welles park gets four stars is because the drainage systems on the fields is mediocre. However another reason why Welles only gets four stars is because people walk through the fields outfield no this isnt the parks fault and can be easily remedied by the people but still its annoying.

Welles Park is always well-maintained, clean, and family-friendly. If you take a stroll through the exercise facility and pool house in the middle of the park, you will see lots of photos of the parks history. Theres not many other places I can think of with so many pictures of happy people. This is my go-to spot for anything: clearing my thoughts, hanging out for an afternoon, or going for a jog.

This park has some really nice playgrounds for kids ages 2 to 12. Nice padded ground and a nice assortment of swings, slides, and things to climb on. They recently added a big jungle gym that makes me wish I was a kid again so I could play on it. Be warned though, the area seems to be a nice habitat for mosquitoes. Bring insect repellent or get eaten alive during during the warm seasons.

Lincoln Square is lined with greenery when the weather turns warm and a large part of that is due to the number of parks around the neighborhood. Welles Park is a keystone park offering plenty of space, ballfields, running paths and more. Youre bound to see a wealth of dogs and babies here but, hey, thats the way we do in Lincoln Square.

Beautiful gazebo. Great field for picnics. In the summer theres a great crepe stand that has nutella and some small cafe tables. Grab a bottle of wine or champagne and order some crepes and enjoy the sun and watch people from all walks of life mill about. The tennis courts are lit so you can work on your Forehand after the sun sets.

Well maintained park with great baseball fields, playground areas, and free space to read a book or take a nap. Ive walked next to, and through the park and it always seems very safe. Close to some great restaurants and some fun free public events like Shakespeare in the Park. There truly is something for everyone there.

One of my favorite places in the entire world. As far as I can remember, I would spend lots of time here from the young age of 2. Great baseball, football, and basketball leagues for kids. They have a pool! Visit the website for information about open pool. Its a greast chill place.

Great park - a large playground suitable for kids of all ages. Tennis courts, little league diamonds, a gym and a free pool. On site, theres a little shack the sells crepes and the inevitable ice cream vendor at the weekends. Lots of open grass for laying out or playing games.

This park is amazing! Its very large and can hold a lot of visitors of all kinds. We played Bocce ball in the fields. There are baseball fields, a concert area and plenty of space to sprawl out under a big tree. Wish I lived closer, Id visit all the time.

A beautiful, large park right on Western. It serves as the mid-point for many a dog walk, and I cant think of a better one. There is a large field as well as playground equipment for the little ones. All in all, a classic, beautiful Chicago Park.

Tuesday concerts in the park are a great example of terrible parents. It is acceptable if my child runs all over the place. It is acceptable if my kids disrupt a show. Id say most of these kids need Ritalin but they probably just need parents.
