Ive been here a couple of times and I always enjoy it. The food is great, the selection of beer is decent and over all I enjoy the show and a dinner ambience the got going on. Really the only thing that is stopping me from giving it a full 5 stars is a small issue that actually happened recently. I mean it wasnt a big deal but, I was getting a few drinks, I probably got a total of 3 drinks and I am not a big bar hopper so I dont know too many things about bartender tip policies and stuff so I usually always tip at the end. Well Im off to my second drink and the bartender tells me that I should probably know that most bartenders wont serve you unless you tip, insinuating that I wasnt going to tip. I felt a little wierd because she came off a bit snoby about it, I was going to tip her and I did but it made me feel a bit unwelcomed. Maybe she wasnt trying to be snoby but It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth so Ill probably think twice about geating drinks there.

Went to watch a concert at this small venue. A great place to see the up and coming stars cheaply. Would go back to here. They specialize in Mac in cheese (Several varieties) and we each try one.....all very good! We when there to meet the group "The Last Bison" a folk band that really does well. Even got to eat with the gang and get pictures taken with them all. This was all done for and set up by my son who is a great fan as we all are now; great bunch of people! The concert venue was different but very good. It was a big empty room with a bench on one wall, a bar, and stage. Standing room only, but was pretty cool. Leg were dying by the end of the concert though. Will go back if the opprotunity arises.

I went here with a group of friends before a Cubs game. Its about a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium and when we went, we were about the only people in there 2 hours before the first pitch. The food was okay. I got a solid pulled pork sandwich with a side of brussels sprout. The brussels sprout were a bit undercooked and a bit too butter coated for my taste. They werent tremendously flavorful either - the most distinct taste was that of butter, which I didnt want in my veggies (personally). The pulled pork was good. I think this place would be better visited when theyre playing music etc., which is what theyre known for. In my opinion, the food alone was pretty unexceptional.

This place has it all! Music Venue, Restaurant, and Bar and theyre all great! The bar is pretty cozy - but I think cozy is good. The restaurant is also great - the food is good, beer selection decent, and service is on it! They also have sidewalk seating in good weather. The Music Venue portion - This is wonderful, also cozy, and it allows for a very intimate experience with the bands. seating is along one wall, and its wooden benches so expect to stand, but its worth it. Acoustics are Ok, something I think they could improve. As an artist I think playing this venue would be difficult as they dont really have a backstage.

Schubas is a great place to catch good live music during the week. I went on a Wednesday, paid $10, and got to see bands from Michigan, the PNW, and Philadelphia, all three of which had a very polished and professional sound. The actual stage is in a back room, and isnt too big, so you literally cant get a bad spot. If you go and decide you want to have more of a conversation, you can head back to the front room for a more low key atmosphere. The beer selection was pretty comparable to other places in Chicago (which is to say that it had good beer, but nothing that you couldnt find elsewhere).

I want to say this is the perfect venue to see a particular band however its the best setting for any of the bands they book here. It is a smaller venue with killer lineups for great music. If you have not been you must see a show here you will completely understand what I am saying. It has a very intimate setting and there is a small bar you walk through to get to the back show space. It is a great place to see the show and hang out after. They also have a cafe attached with great food so why not make a whole night of it. Dinner a great show and stick around for drinks.

Ive gone to see two concerts at Schubas, and it is certainly worth the price of admission. The acts can be pretty unknown unless youve really got your finger on the indie music scene (I only knew 1 of the 4 bands Ive seen perform), but rarely do they disappoint. The concert hall in the back is an awesome spot to enjoy a show, very intimate with good sound. Drinks can e a little expensive, but not much more than you pay anywhere else. I love this place, and as long as they continue to draw fun, energetic bands, ill keep going.

Have been here many late nights to see bands when I was in my twenties...but havent been back as a responsible adult. I took my four year old son to the Acoustic Brunch on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised...the food was fantastic (french toast & Luigi) & service was great! We were a bit early for the music but hung out for a bit without the feeling of being rushed from the table. The music began around Noon and gave the place a nice ambiance. I highly recommend this place for Sunday brunch.

The beer and liquor selection is decent. The staff is somewhat nice. The food isnt too bad, for bar food. I usually just come here for musicians performing, but they have the absolute WORST stage lighting. I hate the overuse of red, blue and green lighting. Lincoln Hall has some of the best lighting Ive seen anywhere for a venue that size. Not sure why this place cant make a few improvements, considering theyre related venues. Hence, I always get black and white photos out of this place.

Schubas is one of the best music venues in Chicago. While there are a lot to choose from, Schubas is definitely one if you love music. Schubas attracts well known bands as well as local acts. They also have alcohol service during shows as well as a delicious lunch and dinner menu. On sundays they offer an acoustic brunch that includes all things good: Brunch and Live acoustic music. I have come here alone and with friends and no matter what, the sound is amazing!

Schubas is my favorite bar in Chicago! Aside from have a great intimate venue to see acts a lot of amazing music and comedy, their menu is amazing, their staff is the nicest around, and their bar is HUGE! They also have a separate restaurant attached called the Harmony Grill. It is the same food menu as Schubas, but with a warmer restaurant feel. On top of all that, they have a private room for events and a great outdoor space on Southport.
