If you want to feel better about your golf swing, take a trip the the Diversey range. The place is Butch Harmons personal hell. Oddly cocked arms, knee bends, lifting heads and off-balance stabs are just the start. Youll see everything from duffers to scratch golfers, kids and group lessons. The place is as representative of diverse golf swings as Chicago is of diverse people and personalities. The bathrooms, which are super gross, are the kind where you would not be surprised to see a dead body. In fact, Im relieved every time I walk in and the only thing on the ground is mystery liquid. That said, its a nice golf haven in the concrete jungle of Chicago. Even on busy days parking is never an issue. And where else can you play "plunk the guy driving the cart picking up the golf balls" within a reasonable drive. [get it, drive]The availability of a second, elevated tier will add an additional 20 yards per club should you need an ego boost. Not sure if I like the place because there is no other option or I genuinely like the place, but Im a weekly customer and dont plan to change my routine any time soon.

A fairly typical driving range with a beautiful skyline to go with it. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because it is a little expensive and the parking is also. $16 for a large bucket of balls (100) or $10 for a small bucket of balls (50). The parking is $4 for the first hour or $8 for up to four hours or parking. So a large bucket and enough time to hit them all is going to cost you $24. Street parking around there is nearly impossible unless you park far away. The range mats are in good shape and the place is well taken care of. There is a small restaurant near where you get the rental building where you can have a beer and hang out after. Also, lessons are offered here.

Diversey Driving Range is run by the Chicago Park District. The facility has been around for quite some time, however, they do keep this very nice and the rates are very reasonable. It is open all year round with stalls that are enclosed and heated. This is a two Level facility so it can accommodate a lot of people. This is the only driving range that I am aware of that is in the city proper and usually very popular. There is also a miniature golf course that is simple but fun to play. They have a restaurant that is open in the summer only and in the small clubhouse where you pay you can purchase snacks and water or soft drinks for reasonable prices.

I recommend Diversey Driving Range to anybody that doesnt want to spend a full day on the course. Service is friendly and fast... It is a quick way to practice on your game without spending the whole day playing... Plus there are Professional instructors available to teach the techniques and fundamentals of the game... By appointment of course. And the location is beautiful...

This place is slightly overpriced. I want to say its about $14 for a large bucket of balls. I understand it is up North and one of few driving ranges in the city but they are overpriced. You can go to Jackson Park Driving range and pay $9 for a large bucket. I like how they have two levels and it is "heated". The putting green is very dated and could use a revamp.

This Driving range is a gem! Its has a beautiful green and upper and lower tees. Get yourself a small, medium or large bucket and go! If you dont have your own clubs, no worries - rent some there! Also theres a small mini golf in the front. Its right off the beautiful lakefront with views of the city and diversey harbor.

Decent driving range with prices that may be a little bit on the high side. Considering it is in the city of Chicago, definitely a clutch place to practice your swing. They also have heated tees which is nice on a cold day. Putting greens are real sus though.

This is one of my favorite range because is accessible within minutes in the city and very cost effective specially if you buy their membership for 25 you get discounts if you visit any of the cities golf courses and finally they have a kids minigolf course.

can get super crowded but its an awesome option to have a range in the city. kind of expensive for a bucket of balls. they have lights too so they have great hours too. bring your clubs though because the clubs they have there are kind of crappy

Me, my wife and a couple friends of ours went to this place for mini golf. It was an average course no real obstacles at any of the holes very simple and plan. So if you like obstacles on your mini golf expert this isnt the place for you.

I love going here and letting off some steam, plan some ball down wind and everything is all good. Friendly place, always a good conversation and fun to smash balls and fine tune the hits. Good prices and easy in and out.

A great place to swing away right in the city. Facilities are clean and well-maintained (even during the winter, which is a plus). You will pay a bit more, but its worth it for the convenience.

Nice setup, never had to wait to get balls or for a mat. Quite expensive, a large bucket of balls is about as much as playing 9 holes at a Chicago Park District course.

Price per bucket is higher but its walking distance from my condo. Note: If you golf frequently go for the yearly membership which is $360 for unlimited buckets.

A solid practice facility in the middle of the city. Can get very crowded, but probably the best (and only) option for downtown/near north side of Chicago.

Convenient and awesome location right on Lake Shore Drive. Prices are a bit high ($16 for a bucket) and they have mats only. Cool putt putt course on site.

Kinda hard to beat the location when you are in the city. Its a little pricey, and they could use more yardage markers but all in all a great place.

Enjoyed myself despite attendant with poor attitude and 5 year old golf balls. Love the double decker concept.....visiting from ann arbor michigan.

A tad overpriced - 14 for 100. Balls are somewhat chewed up. Facility is a bit dingy... but hey, I get to practice my swing!

Great range in the city, even has a fun putt putt next door and good outdoor space to wait for a spot to open up.

Cool spot for a driving range. Lot of spots for people with two floors. Prices are fair. Nice view as well.

Nice driving range. A bit pricey but again what do you expect for a driving range in the city?

Way too expensive. They know they are the only game in town.
