DC needs Songbyrd Record Cafe more than Songbyrd needs DC. In a city of suits and politics, Songbyrd pushes DC to tap into their creative side. Where Peregrine defines good coffee and Maketto defines cool, Songbyrd defines the arts. Located in eccentric Adams Morgan, Songbyrd Record Cafe is a record shop, music venue, and coffee shop all in one. The icing on the cake (or the froth on the latte) is their strong, free wifi, plenty of seating, good coffee (hot and iced) and a unique lunch menu. For lunch, I ordered the Kraftwerk sandwich, which I highly recommend, It was a sandwich with perfectly fried schnitzel with cranberry sauce, slaw, and brie cheese. You have an option of a side and always order the mashed potatoes. What they dont tell you, its mashed potatoes with bacon and scallions....AMAZING! If you need a break from stiff DC, make the journey to Songbyrd Record Cafe!

I am so happy I tried this place out. It has a great ambiance, a very authentic feel... Like you are in someones home who knows exactly what they are passionate about! The decor is unique, with a lot of personality. The staff (Rene) is extremely friendly. The food is delicious, DELICIOUS. The coffee is excellent. Ive been back once a week since my first visit. I think this place will be my new go to hang out, work remotely, or for just a simple, yet delicious meal. Its a keeper! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Music was way too loud, woman playing amplified acoustic guitar spent 45 minutes saying "check, check, check" in her mic, limited menu with no alternatives for pork sausage/bacon, sloooooooow service, we waited a long time to place initial order and to close out on bill. HOWEVER, good coffee.

Cute little record cafe that offers muffins, sandwiches, and plates, as well as a little section of records for purchasing, counter seating with headphones to listen to some tunes, as well as a little mini recording studio! A cute little addition to the Adams Morgan neighborhood!

I was leaving work in Farragut North and really wanted a good sandwich and amazing cup of coffee. Songbyrd delivered on both in spades. The music was just as delicious, the decor relaxing and the staff welcoming. Perfect place to refuel before a night out or anytime youre hungry!

Everything is spot on about this place. Sandwiches are delicious. People are nice. Music is funky and fun, decor is hip without being annoying. Cool music listening stations. And they have pie! Come check it out. I want them to succeed - this is a perfect AdMo spot.
