What the reviewer below does not mention are three major problems: First, they raise their rates $60 each year. I have been a member for only two years and they have inceased them by $120; Second, they are closed in all for a about a month per year due to Jewish holidays; and three, they ask you to leave the building by 9:15pm sometimes 9:00 pm even though they say their open until 9:30pm (just an fyi, most gym close their doors at 10pm). I found another gym for $240 less a year just up the road thats open 4:30am to 10pm . Most people do not leave the JCC because they had to pay a registration fee in addition to monthly membership (ours was $150). They also close the pool 45 minutes before closing time (sometimes an hour depending on the lifeguard). They leave many of these details out while they give you a tour. It is a nice place with good machines, but we had regrets after joining.

The JCC has one full court basketball gymnasium, a swimming pool and hot tub, and a full weightlifting gym and running mezzanine among other facilities. However its definitely not worth the $70 a month for an adult membership. It should also be noted that there are "activation" and "cancellation" fees, which are $50. Theyll pretty much charge you for anything. Whats more is that the hours are atrocious, closing at 7:30 on Friday and 6pm on the weekend. Want to get a lift done on Sunday evening? Its not happening. There are also the numerous Jewish holidays that you wouldnt expect cause the place to be shut down, so that will mess up your gym schedule as well. It is ridiculously overpriced and is grossly misrepresented as a place that you can depend on.

Pleasant, welcoming staff and atmosphere, full gym with lots of options, kid playscape, swimming pool, group exercise classes, children and adult programs, café, community events and more. While you do get a lot, the price is quite high, and many services are charged for beyond membership, like babysitting while you work out and some of the programs. All in all, as a family, we always have a lot to do here and can stay for hours at a time.

Good machines and classes, but really lacking floor space for workouts. The sauna is a significant extra charge, and the monthly fee is already pretty steep. The pool is usually taken by swim clubs , unless you can go during the day. There are just better gyms in and around Hartford for less money, and that are also accessible by bus or bike.

I have only ever been to this location in conjunction with my daughters dance company and their frequent recitals. The auditorium is clean, comfortable and the lighting and sound is excellent. What limited interaction I have had with the staff has been pleasant and enjoyable.

Came down from New Hampshire to Visit my brother and had a work out (treadmill, leg pushes, shower) . The attendants were great ( especially Steven), equipment, treadmill was great, towels were soft and inviting. Couldnt gabezasked for a better day.

As someone else wrote....its much too expensive, and they raise the rates every year. You arent getting much more then what you can get at other gyms for $20 a month. And yes, they are closed for about a month in total per year for holidays.

Nice, clean gym. Very friendly staff. A good amount of exercise equipment. Classes are offered during busy times and I would highly recommend the spinning classes... great instructors. Pool available, clean bathrooms...

Friendly and welcoming! Anyone can be a member of the community here. You can easily spend all day here, there is so much to do for anyone of every age. This is my familys home away from home!

Excellent place to workout and track Family values. If you have children then this is where you want them to exercise. The price is more than other gyms but you get more. It ia worth it.
