Ive played nearly every golf course I saw listed on a Google Maps search of golf courses around Hartford and Quarry Ridge is definitely one of my favorite, if not my outright favorite. The course is as challenging as it is beautiful. Some of my favorite holes include the tough #7 that has a very narrow landing area for your tee shot and an severe uphill approach shot into a green thats mostly above your view. #13 is a gorgeous short par 4 that long hitters should be able to reach from the elevated tees, but going over the green here is the worst. It falls off down a steep hill to the left all the way back down to the 12th tee box. I could rave about the course all day, but you just just go check it out. The course is always in great shape, and the few times it wasnt (aerated greens or something) the pro shop was nice enough to knock $5 or $10 off the round. John is a great guy and a great pro, always making you feel welcome and excited to come back again. As long as you dont mind a challenge, youll have a blast here at Quarry Ridge.

The first thing you may notice about Quarry Ridge is its location. Fairly secluded in Portland, and not to be confused with the Portland Golf Club which is literally across the street, Quarry Ridge is carved out of the Connecticut River Valley and provides some spectacular views. Some of the hole locations or more specifically the tee boxes are placed on the outskirts of the course which leads to driving out to the teebox and backtracking along the fairway. There are quite a few holes like this and definitely add to the rounds time. Many of the holes are narrow, extremely narrow, with little margin for error. But keep it in the fairway and none of the holes are overly difficult. The conditions were fairly good on my first visit and the price was reasonable. The greens were extremely fast and required the lightest touch which is nice but took a bit to get used to. Overall its a fun course that provides challenges and rewards for well-placed shots.

Went for the Mothers Day brunch and was a pretty nice set up. Ham carving station, quiches and Salmon croquettes were the better finds from the buffet. There were a lot of the standard options but I think the timing between preparation and serving the patrons was off. Bacon, egg casserole and biscuits had definitely been out for a while even though we were the second table to get sent up to get our food. Desserts were really good though and the whole experience was well worth the price for a family of four. Friendly and efficient service host team at the club.

Beautiful course. Fairways and greens are in awesome condition. Very hilly, so a cart is required, but the hills and rock outcroppings really add to the beauty and make many of the holes challenging. The only thing Id suggest to the owners is to add a couple signs pointing to the next tee, but Ill definitely return.

Great track filled with scenic views that will challenge you and keep you coming back for more! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and most importantly treat you like family. Make sure to stop by the 19th hole after your round for some good eats and hidden treasures on tap!

Greens were in good shape. Course has some narrow fairways and slopes quite a bit side to side. Not overly long but still pretty challenging. Got a little slow on the back 9 for a Friday but thats not overly surprising. Overall worth the $

golfed there 5/17/2015.. very good shape. course is narrow, but I knew that going in. Greens were not forgiving, they didnt hold unless you came in high. Made you play smart golf. Great scenery, great staff I will be back Brian K Grossguth

Very nice golf course. Straight tee shots make a huge difference. First several holes are terraced down the ridge.
