Ive been in Shrine a few times in the past and had some fairly mediocre experiences. The first time was for a friends birthday where our group ate sushi upstairs for dinner adding up to an $800 tab. We then swung around to the club expecting to at least be comp’ed at the door for our bill. This on a weeknight there was no line and it was not very crowded inside, the bouncer told us we would be paying a full cover to get inside. When we put up enough of a stink about the food bill we just paid the manager came along and finally conceded. This past weekend I was at Foxwoods for a bachelor party. After dinner we were walking by the Shrine front entrance to gamble in the casino and I asked the door attendant if I could get in with shorts or would have to go change later. You need jeans to get in so myself and 3 friends broke off from the bachelor and the larger group after gambling and got changed to appease the dress code. When the 4 of us walked up to the (now long) line the bouncer waved us over and asked us if we were the same people from the bachelor party that walked by and asked about the dress code. Expecting that he would then bump the four of us up to the front we explained that we were. It was at that point when we were informed that anyone in our group would not be allowed in due to the club policy. Shrine bans bachelor parties, no questions asked. After trying to explain we had left the bachelor and the large group in the casino and that this was just a group of 4 guys trying to get in we gave up and tried a different route. We walked upstairs to the restaurant to get a few drinks and hope to move down at some point that way. There we met up with a group of 8 ladies finishing dinner who were sympathetic to our situation. They planned also to go to Shrine and invited us to enter with them. We walked to the inside entrance mixed in alternating the 8 girls and 4 guys and were started to be allowed in. One of the main entrance door attendants then walks up and recognizes our group from the earlier scenario and hand picks us out of the group of girls to reject us again. This policy is obviously arbitrary and I’m sure it’s a game for the door attendants to blacklist a group for uttering the word “bachelor”. It would be one thing if we had tried to enter obnoxiously as a group of 12 guys. But to be hand picked out of a group of 12 people entering with a ratio of 8 ladies and 4 guys is just ridiculous. Shrine is not a destination. If you are staying at Foxwoods it is one of the few available options. They would not survive if it were not for that monopoly. Get a clue and hire employees with an ounce of reasonable sense. I won’t be returning.

So I was at a food show for my store at Foxwoods and I was told by fellow colleagues that if we wore our store name badges we could get in The Shrine for free. When I arrived at the door however they would not let me in because I had shorts on in August in summer. I was clean shaven, wearing a collard shirt and yes black dress "shorts" and the bouncer said I had to have pants on which I did not bring on my trip because once again it is summertime. Throughout the day I was getting complemented by fellow colleagues on how I was dressed but apparently that was not good enough for The Shrine. The next day I went on the Shrines Facebook page and I saw multiple pictures of the females in "shorts" but that is somehow ok...hmmm? Although I had no issues in Foxwoods Casino itself, nighttime entertainment is part of a casino trip and any future casino ventures I now will be taking at Mohegan Sun where am not ostracized for wearing shorts in the summertime.

This place is a wasteland on so many levels: the management is rude w/ an IQ level of <20; all they care about is your-$$$$$ & how to rip-you-off + theyre also the biggest snobs youll ever encounter in your life! On the weekends they pack-in as many people as possible - you cant move a foot without bumping into someone & you feel like one of 1000 sheep in the pen! Everything is overpriced; the attendant girls that work there are dressed half-naked when its freaking freezing there! I find it desperate & disgusting. On the positive note, I met some decent security guards there (hence 1 star) and trust me, you will want to be friends with them! With so many people packed into one place, many drunk, some desperate, others losers looking for trouble, it doesnt take much to get into a scuffle or a fight. I wont be ever coming back to Shrine & strongly discourage others from giving them business. Save your time, money and attention on a better place.

Im highly disappointed in Shrine. Ive gone there multiple times before and have never encountered an issue like I did last night. We got into the club with no problem. My friend and I then had two shots each at the bar. Proceeded to dance and have a good time, just as everyone else was doing. Not even an hour into being there, we were pulled aside by security. Taken into a back room and hounded with questions. They wouldnt explain to us what we did wrong, or why we were there in the first place. Asked to speak to a manager, and she was unprofessional and beyond rude. We were asked to leave the club. Im assuming because we were too intoxicated? Id just like to know how they make that determination. And if I was too intoxicated, how did I manage to get into another bar 20 minutes later? Blows my mind. I will never return to this establishment. Ill take my money elsewhere. And I suggest you do the same.

I have never had dinner here, but we have gone here for table service for a few birthdays (we are in our 30s & early 40s). We paid extra for VIP bottle service. We were not treated well at all. The doormen are rude, the staff is rude and every time we have had bottle service, the bouncer stands right next to your table, waits for one wrong move from someone and starts to ask people to leave one by one. All you have to do is stumble while wearing a stiletto and you are out! Meanwhile they keep the $1000 you paid for the evening. If you dont get bottle service, its much cheaper and they dont care how long you stay. Its a rip off and a bad way to do business!! Not impressed!!

Absolute trash is the thought that comes to mind. Saw dillon francis here and my god he must of cried at the venue he got stuck playing. First off, the venue is laid out so poorly and can not accommodate the amazing shows that play here. Second it turns into a massive shove fest due to cramped, poor lay out. The sound was horrible, if you love edm youll cry felt like i was in my car listening to music. Security was throwing everyone out that was dancing and even saw them giving drugs to waitresses. Place is a dump with high cover charges avoid like the plague.
