The Monday jazz jam is run by this little keyboard guy who is a control freak. A nice man, who is a pro Latin jazz drummer came to jam. Two weeks he waited. A friend who has seen him play finally asked, why cant he jam? The skinny little keyboard guy says " Dont want this to turn into a chucky cheese jam. Well, to the surprise of all,, when they let him in,, he was incredible playing that Latin Jazz. The place applauded, and you can see the keyboard guy acted like he was mad at him. The drummer comes up to him and said, " I was honored to have played with you". Keyboard guy put his best BS smile on,,, and " yeah dude cool. Its a shame how this jam host, acts like its all about him. All he does is let the same people, who know the same songs, play all the time. Its like if you want to jam,,, you have got to play songs I know. Its a jam!!!!!!!! The drummer asked them if they could play in 7/8,, or Afro Cuban 6/8 or anything, but the same dam songs they play week after week. They looked at him like,,,, what? you mean free jam? Its a shame. The drummer guy said that all the house band guys are nice people, But keyboard guy is a little control freak. Be nice to new comers, you never know how good they can be.

Worst service ever! Went there to celebrate a birthday and the blonde bartender was beyond rude. She was demanding tips and even went as far to charge 50% more on drinks because she didnt feel as if she was being tipped enough. Its called the service industry for a reason...tips are earned based on the service you provide! My group was kicked out when we questioned the high cost. As she kicked us out she claimed she was the "manager", I hope this establishment would hire and train people with a little more class and respect. Will never return! But as the "manager" stated when she used profanity to kick my group out "they dont need our business". Good luck getting returning customers. We went next door to larimer lounge and had a great time... Where we tipped the bartenders who actually deserved tips.

Would almost describe it as a quaint hole in the wall. Not all too flashy, but thats the best way. If youre just looking for a reasonable drink in the area or a night of entertainment; youll probably find it at the Meadowlark. The bar staff are pretty polite and appreciative. The usual patrons are composed of music lovers and composers, making open mic night pretty fun. The age range varies from mid-late 20s into 40s - 50s. So there is something for near everyone. The bar itself can feel a little cramped, with the stage taking up a good bit of space at the front, but the back outdoor area is especially large (albeit potentially cold in the winter) and worth the experience. So if youre in the area, give her a shot! Corner of Larimer and 27th. Good people, good music, and a good venue in N. Denver.

Two stars for awesome patio & Monday night band (the door guy was nice too). 0 stars for service. Was ignored for almost 10 minutes while the 2 bartenders busied themselves talking to their friends & counting their money. No hellos - No be with you in a bit - just straight up ignored. I get being busy-I too bartend-, but this was different. Id hate to think people get disregarded just because they dont look hip enough. Half the bar stools were empty. Cmon guys! I wanted to give you my money. Instead I left without buying anything.

Cheap drinks, shady dive bar atmosphere but a great place to hang with friends. Ive been here twice (kicked out before we made it in the first time), and never realized how big the back patio was. It was busy but not crowded, and they allow smoking on the patio even though its somewhat indoors. Cant wait to come back in the summer

Walked into the meadowlark kitchen on accident on our first trip here. Way different experience in the bar. Awesome outdoor patio and lower level gets crowded quickly on the weekends. Dont be surprised if theres a cover on Fri/Sat nights. If youre in the area, its worth checking out.

I stopped in looking to kill a half hour and the bartender and one of the patrons was incredibly cordial and willing to entertain me with their knowledge of the music underground and local scene. Incredibly glad I stopped in, its a clean place with an even better atmosphere.

Very cozy aka small. Very busy on a Saturday night. Was there about 2 hours and the staff never cleaned the empty bottles/glasses off the counters. Elbow room only with a DJ who doesnt know what he is doing.

If youre chasing crowds on the weekend this place might be the best in town. Drinks are still cheap and theres rarely a cover. But then again they might do the crime crime thing a little too well.

Definitely a good time! However, could use better door guys...unfriendly, aggressive attempt to get people out at the end of the night with profanity. On 11/13.

Basement is a mix of a frat house dance party and underground club. The back porch is a cool spot to post up and drink cheap beer. Unique spot

Good music on the weekends. Started to have their cover charger earlier in the night. Cost 5 bucks. Get there before 9 for free entry.

This place is weird and I mean that in the best possible way. Reminded me of a college house party but with hipsters.
