Cheesman Park is a nice place for a picnic. There are a lot of people the day that we went, playing volleyball, running, biking, etc. Theres a nice fountain in a building with Corinthian columns in the center of the park which is quite lovely. Parking situation could be improved a little bit and we had to search for a few minutes to find a place, but it was worth it.. the people there were fairly friendly, in the park is dog friendly, but not everyone keeps their dog on a leash. This Denver staple is popular for a reason. Is it good place to relax and unwind after a hard week.

Ive lived on Capitol hill for 7 years now and Cheesman is still one of my favorite parks to enjoy. It was once a graveyard in the late 1800s and not all the bodies were exhumed, some think the place is haunted I believe there is spirits there but not at all scary at night. Its safe to walk at night for the most part, lost of space and privacy. If you jog the entire park it equals a mile. I like cheesman better than City Park and Washington its small enough to get around quickly and big enough to have your own space.

Well maintained. Rarely crowded, so theres plenty of space to lay down a picnic blanket, set up a volleyball net, bring a camping grill and enjoy some nature time in the heart of the city. The Botanic Gardens has an entrance/exit on the East side, albeit its for members with a key fab only, so its lovely for only a select few. The portable toilets leave a lot to be desired, including toilet paper, so be prepared if you plan on spending the day there.

arguably one of the most beautiful parks in Denver, this urban oasis is centrally located in Cap Hill. an ideal spot for flinging a frisbee with friends, lounging under a tree with a good book, or the ideal date at dusk, this park offers an easy-to-get to location with minutes-from-anything convenience...yet youll feel like youre a world away the whole time youre here! Offers some of the best mountain views of any of denvers metropolitan parks

Beautiful park. My main criteria for my apartment was that it had to be within walking distance of Cheesman. Very safe at all times of the day (even after hours, the park really isnt ever sketchy), great place to to dog walking, clean and well maintained. Gigantic open spaces where people play volleyball, fly drones, play fetch with their dogs. Walking trails are expansive with various terrains.

Its so nice to go here and hang out on this bench of one of my very close friends. Its a beautiful park very big with a lot of walking paths. It also has waterfalls... I dont give it 5 stars because of the homeless people that bother you and wont leave you alone.other then that its a beautiful park and its very special to me because of this bench...

Its huge! So many people out and about with their dogs and kids (and cats!). Plenty of space for everyone. Hang out, play frisbee, bbq, sunbathe, meditate, take dance lessons... I saw all of these things! Have your picture taken on the steps of the huge pavilion. Walk or ride your bike along the path. People of all ages enjoy the park.

Im a bit of a snob when it comes to parks because I spend so much time in Central Park. This has lots of open grassy area and people where relaxing, playing, and running here. If youre looking to enjoy a park day, its probably a great place to do it. If youre looking to enjoy creative landscapes, try another park.

I love Cheesman Park! It was so beautiful, and a perfect place to have a picnic. I saw all kinds of people, and really enjoyed myself. Its a great place to walk your dog, or just go chill on a blanket for with friends. I recommend this park if you want some leisure time to enjoy a beautiful city.

This is a great park. Great size, lots of nice grassy area as well as clusters of trees for shade. Not as insanely crowded as other parks can get, but still full of life. Also lots of dogs here, given that it is a residential area, so great if you like dogs. Probably my favorite park in Denver.

We LOVE Cheesman Park. The walking paths around and through the park are very well maintained. If you walk here often enough, you will see "regulars," which is very nice. There are specific weekends where no cars are allowed in or through the park, which is great. Love Cheesman Park.

A quiet place for a stroll. Many mature trees offer copious shade, and the pavillion and fountains are clean, quiet. Check out its strange history, and its evolution from grounds for the gallows, to city cemetery, and the bizarre scandals surrounding its conversion to a city park.

I dont like the fact that u have to ride ur bike in the street and people want to push u up on the cars that are park in the street and if you go to a park near down town you see alot of homless there hanging under all the spots like me only i got better spot all around

Been living in the area for 7 years and this park just keeps getting more vibrant with festivals and events. It also is a very chill place to enjoy the sunshine right next to the city. Maybe i should say its not a good place so everyone else will stay away?

Very nice park. The speed bumps offered adequate entertainment at speeds >40MPH. I personally assume that places with "cheese" in the name generally have cheese on the premises, so this was slightly disappointing. Overall, a nice experience.

So much room and so many people doing various activities. I have seen people working out, setting up grills, musicians, you name it, it probably happens at this park - it is HUGE!!! Great sidewalks and water fountains, best park in Denver!

This is one of the best places in Denver to watch sunset over a wide expanse of serene and beautifully landscaped lawn along with people and their dogs and children. The only problem I had was that I did not find a bike rack anywhere.

This is a great park to walk, play some catch, near local transit and just a great place to enjoy some fresh air. The one issue I have with it is that there isnt a dedicated dog park and I feel this park is large enough to have one.

Beautiful, big, open, rolling field, surrounded by large shade trees. Great place to place frisbee or set up a volleyball net. Be careful not to let your dog off leash, park rangers frequently ticket for leash law violations.

Beautiful park. Used to be a cemetery and many of the graves are still present under the existing park. Youll forget that youre in the middle of the city here, great place for summer fun or a contemplative walk in the winter.

Great park minus the semi innappropriate level of gay cruising that goes on there. Plus it is built on what was a 380 acre graveyard, of which over 2,000 bodies are still left under the park so, yeah make good decisions.

Beautiful park about a quarter of the size of Hyde Park in London. Lovely grounds are well cared for by Denver Parks and Recreation. Park sits at the west entrance to the Botanical Gardens, if you have a key fob.
