I truly wish I was rich enough to live in one of the fancy neighborhoods near this park so that I could visit on a regular basis, and not have to pay $4 to get in. In fact, forget the mansion. Id be willing to live in the park, itself. This truly is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited. Spacious, safe, and beautiful to behold from every angle, with plenty of secluded areas and pathways for walkers & bikers, alike. The aesthetically pleasing aspect is one thing, but there are some areas in this park that are quite surprising; such as the small garden tucked away at one end of the park, complete with pillars, archways, and benches for enjoying the scenery and the scent of roses perfuming the air. Its a burst of color in any season. And the center of the park is one huge expanse that can hold an enormous amount of people on any given day, and still have room left over, for a few soccer/baseball/football games. There are also plenty of areas arrayed with tables for picnickers; so although barbecuing isnt allowed, you can still bring your outside goodies and have a grand feast inside the park. And lets not forget the kiddies. Theres a small, yet well-kept playground on the entrance side of the park where they can play to their hearts content. I actually wanted to get in on that action myself, but I dont think the parents watching would have taken to kindly that. Even given the fact that non-residents have to pay to get in, this park is a wonder truly worth exploring. And considering how beautifully its kept and tended to, I feel my contribution is going to a worthy cause. So rouse yourself from the couch, and come enjoy the splendors of nature at this little piece of paradise on your next day off. Youll not regret it.

Lacy Park is a small urban park that is a haven to the Pasadena dog walking and jogging crowd. It houses two loops on paved paths with the inner being ~ .4 mi and the outer being ~ .6 mi. There are several tennis courts that are maintained by a private organization and are in very good condition. Membership in the organization is required for use. There are several garden areas and a beautiful trellis area that explodes in color in the spring time. I am fond of running through the neighborhoods surrounding the park and doing several loops of the park before heading home. My favorite aspect is the *** Lemon Gum Trees*** on the outer loop. See if you can find them just by their scent! On weekday nights I am never alone with many other joggers taking advantage of the park. In short, close, convenient, urban park in a quiet neighborhood that is a great place to get away for an afternoon read on the grass or a quiet walk.

This is a beautiful park with a lot of trees and shade. It is great for a picnic or just to run around big, grassy fields and have fun. Some people complain about the charge, but it is worth it. Basically, you pay to have access to a great park that is well-maintained and not vandalized like most of the other parks. They only charge on weekends, so one can still go for free on a Friday afternoon and have a nice, family picnic. Obviously, it may not be worth it if you just want to stay for half an hour. But if you have a whole day of activities planned (picnic, frisbee, water guns, biking, kiting, sports, etc.), $4 is a small fee to pay. Two thumbs up!

This park is fantastic. Small baseball diamond with bases on grass makes for a fun family non competitive place to have a game. The newer playground set is definitely a plus for those with children. A bike path that is about a quarter mile loop is busy on the weekends, but nice and mellow on a weekday early evening. If youre not a San Marino resident expect to pay an entrance fee on the weekend. Small parking lots on both the West and East sides with street parking available on the East side as well. Enjoy!

Beautifully maintained, safe park with new playground for younger kids. Two loops around large lawn in center. Paved loops makes it good for bikes or walking. Park is good for picnics and exercising. Fee charged non-residents on weekends helps pay for upkeep. Small, free parking lot off Virginia Road fills up quickly so typically one has to street park, which is free too. Great 4th of July celebration every year. Small historic military memorial too.

Lacy Park is a gem in the suburbs of Los Angeles. The grass is beautifully maintained and theres a wonderful playground for kids under 7. The park has a large bike loop where biking is not just friendly but common. There are a lot of sports activities that happen on the weekend. The only con is that if youre not a San Marino residence theres a nominal fee which isnt bad for a really well maintained, clean, and safe park.

This park is a cool place to bring your baby, young child or dog for a picnic and to just chill. It is plenty large and has a playground. And there are squirrels for the dogs to chase. I took off a star because they charged an entrance fee. I didnt think it was so much better than other parks that you should pay for it but I guess that keeps it in good condition and keeps it less crowded than it would be otherwise.

This park is beautiful! It almost hard to believe your remotely close to the city. There are different trees from all over the world, which all have plaques with a bit of history. On certain days its open exclusively for locals only...proof of residency is required. I love that. All in all great place, especially if youre looking to break away from the city noise.

My favorite local park (private park) Dog and kid friendly. Dog poop bags, plenty of trash cans and benches to lounge on. Cute treehouse playground, beautiful rose garden and huge lawns and space to picnic. Theres a inner and outer lap. Weekdays are free. Wknds are only free to san Marino residents, costs for outside guest. Plenty of parking.

Its free admission Monday-Friday. Absolutely beautiful park with two circular paths for exercise. A big jungle gym area for young children. Notice the great variety of trees and the beautiful rose garden. Its a peaceful family oriented park with limited parking in a small lot. There is lots of parking on the street.

I went here during summer so there were a bunch of camps, but personally I love this park there are restrooms, a playground, a road for bikes, and a big grassy plain with tables and chairs. I was part of a camp here, but one of the other camps was extremely rude to my camps kitchen.

LOVE this park. Very walkable. Spacious and ample trees for shade. Some here and chill or take a nap. On the weekends they charge an entry fee for non local residents. Across the street on Virginia are some secret stairs. This place also has tennis courts.

Great park with lots of grass and trees. Paved roads loop around the park making it an ideal place for things with wheels (i.e. strollers, bikes, scooters, coolers, etc.) Only downfall is that they charge an entrance fee for nonresident on the weekend.
