I went there once with my BF just to have a couple of beers, but the bartender didn’t want to serve alcohol to foreigners like me. When the female bartender asked us for IDs she first saw my BF’s and everything was fine, but when she saw mine, she flipped out. Apparently, she didn’t know what a U.S. permanent resident ID looks like and said that the bar only takes California issued IDs. Then, we said it was ridiculous and the manager came over and took a look at my ID. But guess what? He also refused to serve me drinks because I had a federal government issued ID (lame). Man, why can’t these people understand that when immigrants move to a new country they don’t have state issued IDs yet. Anyway, I ended up having beers at a gay bar across the street called The Menagerie. Which by the way, it’s super fun, ethnically diverse and straight people friendly.

The physically largest dive bar Ive ever been to. Lake Alice feels like a sample size of everything that the Inland Empire is. It remains a destination for locals in the downtown area. Expect to pay a cover if its a busy night... regardless of how busy Lake Alice actually is. There IS a lot of things to do here. Pool. Pinball. Jenga. Live bands. While they have an active calendar of events, the quality of everything is exactly what youd expect at a place like this. PROPS: For keeping this spot open for almost three decades. SLOPS: It seems like everyone I know in Riverside has at least one "this one time at Lake Alice a terrible thing happened" story :(

Great food. Excellent place to come for lunch. Unfortunately, not a fan of the karaoke girl on Thursday nights. Seems like shes more concerned with hearing herself and her friends sing than the audience. I understand being a regular has its perks, but how do you expect new people to want to come back? Got there at 9:30 stayed until closing, and sang twice. I think the KJ had the most songs with 6. Love the live bands, but for karaoke on Thursday nights, I suggest Joes Bar and Grill.

The service has got to be the best ever for a bar. The bar tender saw that I really wasnt feeling the drink that I had ordered which was delicious but just not in the mood for hot buttered rum and made me a new cool drink free of charge. I also like that the decor is unique and fun. The drink choices are so fun too and might I suggest trying the Top Notch Volcano with a side of danger.

Its good, but way over priced for what they serve. You can also tell they dont clean there beer lines often. Bit of an off taste from tap that I only taste when an establishment doesnt clean there tap lines often. Its easy to overlook and not everyone can tell the difference. Still, great pool tables, huge variety of pinball machines and also they hold pinball tournaments.

Really good food. Had the half pound burger. Service was horrible. It was empty and bartender not paying attention to customers much. I guess the locals get preferential treatment. Leaving my beer sitting empty and my water! Four people total in the lower section and still crappy service. Unfortunate. Wanted to like it more.

Overall seems like a cool place to grab dinner and a beer. I ordered a Local Double IPA which disappointed me, only because it came out near room temperature. I ordered a Cali Burger with an Egg added, took a while to come out. The food was wonderful though! All things said I would come again when in town.

While the place is spacious, Ive never liked the vibe, atmosphere or music here. They usually have the music blasting, which isnt the best setting for a conversation. Totally understandable, but usually when there is loud music, Id expect a packed dance floor, which this place usually doesnt have.

Never heard of the place till I walked in. The one of the best bar bands I have ever heard. Every server and bar tender was great. Dont believe these other reviews. They must hate life. All walks of life inside and they all come to have fun. I will go again when I find a sitter.

Good house band on the weekends. Havent tried any food, but nice hang out in the Riverside area for some drinks and entertainment. Large selection of pinball machines towards the back. Hard to get on the 2 pool tables they have since people usually stay there for awhile.

Drinks are great. Knowledgeable bar staff with a decent menu. The Roast Beef Dip is delicious; goes perfectly with a rum and coke. Service is hit and miss. Though never too terrible not to return. Will return.

Everything is good except the bottled beer. The bottled beer is watered down. I thought I was mistaken at first, till I ordered a different one and that too was watered down. If you go, get the draft only.

This is a great place for a low key good time. If you want to dance, hang out with friends, and have reasonably good price food.. I would recommend this place. The outside patio is filthy!

One of my go to spots during lunch. They have amazing Lunch Half Slider specials, it consists of 2 sliders and a side for under $10. Only problem is theyll take FOREVER to give you your check.

Taco Tuesday is awesome! 3 dollar coronas and great tacos. If you come ask for Bree, shes an awesome server!! Definitely will return as they have different activities everyday.

Fun place to grab a drink. Large area bar with live music on the weekends. Plenty of seating with pool tables and other bar type options. The bar area gets crowded though.
