The Grounds: It is evident that the owners take pride in the presentation of the club by keeping everything green, lush and exceptionally clean. It almost looks like a resort. There was PLENTY of parking for all of my guests and the ballroom is a landmark on the premises. No need to worry about guests not being able to find you. The Ceremony Site: I used the Del Lago Garden for my ceremony and there was ample room for my 175 guests. The lawn was perfectly green and the view was spectacular. The Ballroom: The ballroom is one hell of a venue. The ceilings were palacial and the décor was not overly gaudy. This ballroom was perfect for my gold and deep summer colored wedding. CLEANLINESS was clearly a top priority here as there was not one crumb or speck on the floor, all of the tables and chairs were in pristine condition. The wrought iron chandeliers gave it such a classic look and the amber lighting gave it a splash of romance. The catering team took such good care of making sure there was nothing that looked less than perfect. The Food: No cutting corners or tiny portions here!! Nothing is worse than sitting at a wedding and feeling hungry. Cocktail hour with the tray passed appetizers were such a hit, the options you are given are really meant to fit all palettes and dietary needs. Guests were nearly full and dinner hadn’t even started. The portions were pretty substantial. Our guests had a choice between Wild Sea Bass and Filet Mignon and each were equally as delicious. The Sea Bass was flaky and flavorful and the Filet was cooked to perfection. Rice and potatoes accompanied their respective proteins and we were able to choose which went with which. The veggies were so perfectly cooked, with just that perfect crunch finish. …in addition to your cake you can have a LATE NIGHT DESSERT. Truly a wonderful dining experience. Food was piping hot where it should have been hot and nice and crisp cold where it should have been cold. Perfection. The Staff: Everyone was so kind and attentive not only to me (being the bride) but to everyone. We had their full and undivided attention all night and they were so concerned with how I was doing and how mu guests were doing. Not one thing went overlooked, no cutting corners, and the bartender made the drinks nice and strong…which was awesome because it got everyone loose and on the dance floor. Catering/Event Manager: LAURA MAKES DREAMS COME TRUE! PERIOD. We met Laura on her day off, which already gave us a hint at her work ethic. She was so warm, welcoming and made us feel so welcome. The beauty of the club sells itself so not one word out of her mouth sounded like a sales pitch. She showed us the club top to bottom and showed us every option we could possibly choose from for our special day. Throughout the whole process working with Laura made the planning of this wedding so calm and relaxed. Her organization and confidence in her craft did not stress me out one bit. She was on top of communicating with me and covering every aspect of the event in a timely manner. Not once did I feel rushed to make a decision. She is also there for you to make any recommendations if you are stuck on a decision. My entire family just fell in love with her and the way she was able to fit our needs rather than make us fit the needs of the club. She wanted me to have my dream wedding, she executed perfectly and we love her for it. Mutual respect goes a long way…I’ll leave it at that

What a beautiful course!!!!!! Played here in August, and the conditions were AMAZING. Top notch service, facilities and staff. I was going to play Torrey Pines but, there was a tourney going on. My local head pro told me about it and Im glad I listened. Is it pricey? Sure, but you get what you pay for here. Cant say enough great things about the course. The ONLY thing I would like to see changed is, a separate cart for singles getting paired up. It was kind of awkward riding in a cart with someone you dont know. Would love to go back again. Another GREAT Troon course

I was a tad disappointed by a previous favorite spot of ours for Sunday lunch. Their prices have more than doubled since last year and their portions have decreased. Also, upon checking out the waitress, and most likely other staff on hand, could not figure out how to divide our bill between 3 separate parties at our table. Extremely frustrating trying to explain simple math to these folks. We all ended up paying more than we shouldve from the original tab!! So, until I hear from a friend otherwise, we wont be going back for food anytime soon!

great course! well maintained. friendly staff. had such a great time we came back a few days later and played it again. will play it again on my next trip to the area! i want to mention again, every employee we came in contact with, from the pro shop to the cart cocktail service.... to the restaurant staff made us feel welcome and appreciated.

Awesome design in great condition although greens had been punched. Hope to come back & play many times- beautiful views of the holes with many elevation changes but mostly downhill which presents a great scenic view of some gorgeous holes & a challenge for strategy & club selection. Lucky the golfer who confronts this beautiful challenge.

Awesome high-end course with great food and well kept fairways/greens. The carts (at least at the time of this review) have this amazing extra padding and they have the surfboard carts (bring an umbrella if its hot and sunny)! Keep an eye on out places like GolfNow to get a great deal. Typically the greens fees are NOT cheap.

Beautiful course, in great condition. First time here and had a very enjoyable round. Tend to really dislike Johnny Miller designs, and while some of that was relevant at this course, it seemed to play a little more fair in comparison to some of his other courses Ive played. Will definitely be back.

Pretty course situated in a valley. Noticeable elevation change which is welcome in SoCal. Layout interesting, even with multiple plays. Greens mostly pretty large which allows for varying pin placement. Staff is friendly and helpful. Well organized. Grass range included which is always welcome.

Utter delight of a place, here visiting from the UK and the service (special shout out to the Pro) was nothing short of outstanding. The course is in top condition & will challenge any golfer. I never write reviews & it took me 10 minutes to work out how - thats how much we liked it!

One of the nicest public golf courses Ive ever played (compared to Torrey Pines and Bethpage). Decided to get married here too (it was awesome). Challenging but fair. Always pure conditions and exceptional service and food.

Probably the best golf course i have played in san diego. Service is impeccable. Driving range is beautiful... balls are included in grreens fees. The couse is perfectlly maintained. The greens were in excellent shape.
