I hear their white wines are wonderful. They had none available for tasting during our visit only reds. OK, fine, most in our group love a nice red. Three members from Turley and four members from Opolo. Memberships at dozens of excellence wineries. This group knows good quality wine from marketing and poor quality. Each year, our group visits a number of wonderful wine growing regions in California (Napa, Sonoma, Paso, Livermore, Lodi, San Benito, etc). We try to visit a few new places in each area with each visit. Brecon is a new spot, the tasting room has been open just a few years. Parking and tasting room location is a poor design. Park and walk up the hill to the tasting room. Tasting room is nicely designed. The females in our group loved the bathroom sink. The artwork was nice. At the end of the day, what really counts is the quality of the wine at what price. Out of six reds in our tasting - three were to young to be pouring, the group put most of this wine in the bucket. The next two reds were nothing special, available for half the price 5 mins away. One of six reds hit the mark but was almost 2X over priced. Given this, no one in our group purchased wine or became a new member. People were upset just paying the tasting fees for such low quality. And, this from a group that purchased seven maybe eight cases of wine during our yearly visit to the Paso area. The Brecon Sales Staff is selling what they have. Using "We only bottle 3000 bottles". "We are special, our whites are sold out" to promote low quality reds. Clearly, using scripted, canned sales statements. Not experienced, lacking knowledge. Tasting fees are out of line for the products being offered. They should have closed there tasting room doors for the year when the quality wines were sold .Vs impacting a newly forming brand by having the sales staff promote a weak list of reds. Word does get around faster these days. This wont go unnoticed or without impact. Call first. If they dont have white wines available, recommend a pass. Paso has so much better to offer in quality red wines. You have been warned. Still kicking ourselves for not just leaving.

Im very disappointed with the service here. I brought a group 18 people to taste on May 6th. I had to prepay $15 for the tasting fees. Originally I had 20 people going, and when it dropped to 19, I emailed them. They said dont worry, well figure out how many come on May 6th, and reimburse you. On May 7th, I contacted them about getting the $30 back from the two tasting fees I didnt use. They said "As our initial transaction is over 120 days I need to inquire with our processing company how to best proceed. I should have an answer by Wednesday at the latest and I can sort you out then!" I didnt hear back, so I emailed again on May 13th. I was then told they might mail me a check, and wanted my address. Again, I emailed on May 23rd, because I didnt receive a check. I was then told "This is waiting for our accountant who is in at the beginning of next month. Thanks for checking in, this should be mailed out within 10 days". I just emailed again on June 6th, because I still dont have the money. This is no way to do business, and I will not bring my wine group back here.

I have been going to Brecon for 2 years and a wine club member for about as long. The wines are superb as well as the staff. They make you feel very warm and welcomed. They are a unique winery/tasting room in that the owners are usually present during the wine tastings. Amanda owner/ designer/hostess and Damian owner/ winemaker are very personable and do not hide in the back room as some owners do. I highly recommend Brecon Estate Winery for your next trip to Paso Robles!
