Great place to go if you want to cool off in the East Bay. Theres a grass area where you can play volleyball and other games. There arent that many picnic tables so you have to go early if you want to get a spot. Most people come here for the small lake. Theres a shallow area for the smaller kids and a lifeguard on duty during specified times. Ive seen some people fishing- not too sure what theyre catching.

Lake-specific review: The lake is tiny and was stinky and weirdly dirty when we went. This may be the result of many years of drought only now being corrected by some rain this year. The park itself was nice, and they had lifeguards and free lifejacket rentals for kids, but for the price of parking and getting the whole family inside, Im not sure it was worth it except on the hottest day.

Id lived in the Bay area for about 15 years-and the 1st time I walked into that park was just a couple of months ago and I was so mad at myself and my friends for not taking me here this place is amazing and magical and so we Lake where you can come fishing have family gathering or just barbecue or sit down-and enjoy the view .One of the topis parks and its my number 1 recommendation

I regularly jog the just-less-than a mile path around the lake. Pleasant greenery abounds and areas of shade for hot days. Downside is that lake has been suffering from excessive algae growth that forces closure of swimming area and sometime fishing. Otherwise picnic areas have been updated with permanent tables. Installed BBQ grills are convenient too.

Lovely park with its own lake where you can swim in the summertime. There is fishing, and, usually, plenty of waterfowl. Great site for picnics (tables and barbecues are available). Plenty of play areas for children with swings over a sand base and jungle gyms. There is a fee for parking on the weekend.

One of the closest fishable lakes to SF & the peninsula. Has catfish, trout, bass, and bluegill. As at most fishing spots, the regulars love to talk shop about their fishing exploits, which is fun for a bit but can be a bit annoying if youre looking for peace and quiet.

Beautiful, scenic, and historic. This place is great for picnics, fishing, swimming, hiking, and jogging.The parking is $5 and fising pemit is $5 whenever kiosks are staffed. This neat little place packs a century of history and even had a railway in it.

We went here on July 4th. Was expecting huge crowd but it wasnt. So much of parking space for paid as well as open parking in the street. Play area is very small and not much options for kids. We have lot of grass areas where we can spend time.

Great park hidden in the hills. Easy walk or bike around the lake. Plenty of open spaces for bbqs and picnics. Dog friendly. Nice little beach open during the summer season.
