My friends and I came here for Dance Yourself Clean, which they hold on Saturday nights (or at least they used to. Not sure if its still going on anymore). We tried to find street parking so we could avoid paying for it, but this neighbourhood was not cooperative. So in the end we had to pay valet. There is also a small entrance fee for everyone if you arrive after a certain time. The venue has two floors. Each floor has its own bar; the first floor also has the dance floor while the second floor has a more chill area with a pool table. The restrooms are also located on the second floor. The second floor bar tends to be less crowded than the one on the first floor, so we would always go to the second floor bar to order our drinks. The dance floor is not very big, but its big enough :P The indie music was fun to dance along to and right before midnight the band performed a song live for us. Its a fun crowd and we all enjoyed ourselves. There was a food truck right outside the entrance so we got food afterwards. Im not sure if its the same food truck usually or if they rotate on a particular schedule. It was a chill night to drink and dance yourself clean with friends.

I feel so lucky to live near the Satellite (formerly Spaceland). Monday night residencies are always full of great discoveries, the bartenders are always cool, the sound leaves a little to be desired but its a small space and the intimate vibe makes up for that. Every few weeks there seems to be a secret show announced (Cold War Kids, Local Natives, Beck, etc.) so keep following the local music blog twitter feeds and get a chance to feel even cooler than you normally do while at the Satellite. Only bummer is the parking situation in the area. Watch out for those "till 11pm" signs, try the back streets for free parking, or valet if youre early enough and have the dough. Then get ready to dance under the disco ball! Thats right, they are not too cool for a disco ball.

Low-key local venue for live music. The open floor for dancing (or, standing with your beer and swaying, as the hipsters tend to enjoy) is large and has always accommodated the crowd whenever I have been there (even at their weekly "dance yourself clean" events). The beer selection is not tremendous, but at least they support local breweries like Golden Road. I also like that there are two bar areas; one near the music, and one up a small staircase in the back with some tables, in case you wanna just hang out and talk with people. Beware of parking in Silver Lake, though. Many of the local streets have parking restrictions after 11pm, and parking enforcement is VERY quick to ticket.

This is such a great, casual place to hang out! Its more of a dive and the crowd is local. The drinks are cheap for LA and there are always bands or dance nights going on. It is located on Silver Lake Blvd so there are tons of cool little mom and pop shops around to check out before a show. There are also great restaurants nearby. The venue offers valet parking for $5. There is also street parking available. 21+ only.

This is such a gorgeous venue! I came here to see Babymetal and it was awesome! What I love about this venue is the size because, even from the nosebleed, you can actually see people on a stage. The AC was working beautifully that night, which was great because it was pretty damn hot that night. There is parking perfectly situated next door and its super easy to find.

My favorite place in LA to go if I feel like dancing. The people in funny costumes on stage add to the fun as does the diverse crowd, which compared to other places feels less image conscious and more like people just wanting to dance and have fun. Heard Bootie will be moving at the beginning of 2017 and hope this is not a sign of hard times, but a step up.

I came to the DYC event a couple months ago, we waited in line for almost an hour. The great news was we got in for free. The venue is small and overcrowded. Restrooms are like really bad especially for the ladies, theres only one stool in the mens, luckily there wasnt a big line to wait. Drinks are priced alright. I would come again

If youre into listening to live music from local bands and grabbing a cocktail or two then this is the place to be. Located in the heart of Silverlake where all the hip people hangout. If youre around the neighborhood you should check this place out once like every other bars and restaurants in the Silverlake area.

I always love going to a concert at theThe Satellite. Its smaller than the Bowl and thusly more intimate. I love how they used the greenery of the landscape as the background of the stage itself. Ive been to a few concerts here and Ive never been disappointed - both with the acts AND the venue/staff.

Small venue with mostly indie bands. Ive been here 3 times now and it has always been a fun atmosphere, although I never feel cool enough to be there. The bathrooms are located in kind of a weird area. The beer selection is very good.

Ive been here a couple times for different shows. Pretty alright venue space. Several times the sound guy was not doing a good job. Always really great people at the ticket counter.

I love that The Satellite has great events like bingo and soul nights, just wish the sound quality was a little better.

Hipsters club. Although, I did have an okay time and the bartender was nice so I cant really knock em for the crowd.
