I love art but especially outsider art. This is a hidden gem in the heart of the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, although it seemed quite safe. It is located at the end of a street which has mostly embraced the art-theme, many of which have decorated their house fronts aweigh paint and tiles. The artist who created the towers was originally Italian and it took him 30 years to single-handedly construct the towers and grounds. There is now a thriving Community Arts Center attached which contains 2-3 art galleries with interesting art shows. The tour of the Towers (the only way to access them) costs $7 for adults, and the tour guide I had was excellent, well educated and grew up in the neighborhood with the Towers as his playground. This is reminiscent of Gaudis works in Barcelona. Also check out the outdoor Garden Studio next door with a wonderful garden, sculpture, turtles, and nicely priced and potted succulents for sale.

An absolute must stop if youre in Los Angeles! This historic art piece is actually an exhibit - it has hours and costs money to go in to see it. If you dont feel like paying the money to get in, or if youre only able to view it while outside their hours, you can still see the Towers, you simply wont be able to get up close and personal. The Watts Towers are on a beautifully maintained street filled with quaint, meticulous homes. The pride of being close to such a historical piece of art is palatable. Do check out the Watts Towers, and bring your camera. The history behind them is excellent.

Didnt manage to come on a tour while I was here, but I definitely spent a little time admiring this impressive piece of work from the outside. Definitely worth coming here and seeing first hand the detailed work Rodia has put into this structure over a span of more than 30 years. Metro station nearby if you do not have access to a car. Also, come during the day. Ive heard that the area can be a little sketchy at night.

這些塔周圍的環境可能不是世界上最好的,但對我們來說很安全。我在去之前就在特克薩斯州跟她們解釋過塔的歷史,她們覺得這些塔很有趣。她們很注意塔的用料。

As seen in a few music videos and theres a very similar landmark in the video game "Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas". I got there by taking the metro from Long Beach and getting off at Watts. Then its a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Towers. I was a bit wary of walking through Watts/Compton but it was hassle free visit. Worth a look if youre in the area or passing through.

Ive yet to see these towers in person but I think its amazing anyway. It doesnt matter what the neighborhood is like. This is about one mans determination to make a difference. He gave people a reason to visit that town and I bet at least everyone in that town knows what he created. He proved that one man can make a difference even if he has to do it all by himself.

あまり治安のよい地域ではないのでカメラは人には向けない、最低限の観光に留めるようアドバイスされました。中にはガイドツアーでないと入れない?外からの見学だけでした

Tremendous insight into some of Los Angeles unsung history, and one of the most outstanding examples of the vital contribution made by her immigrant population. Everyone who visits L.A. should see it in person and take the tour. Forget Spacex & Silicon Beach and visit the launching pad of LAs cultural mothership...

This is a really cool exhibit. It is amazing what one man can do. It is in a little rougher area of LA so not many people are there, so you can get up close without having to deal with crowds. There are walk through tours available and there is a self guided tour around the outside.

I absolutely loved visiting Watts Towers. I would definitely recommend paying the small entrance fee to get inside the fence. It includes a great guided tour to help understand the history of this amazing work of art. A great way to spend an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon.

Watts Tower was on my bucket list, being only 2 hours away in traffic I had to do it. I am glad I went. Surprise on how small the park is actually looks bigger on TV. Will take family there when they visit. A must see place! Eat at Watts Coffee House too.

These towers are not in the best neighborhood in the world, but it was safe for us. I explained the history of the towers before we even got there, from Texas, and they found the towers very interesting. They paid close attention to the materials used.

Such a cool little place in the middle of Watts. You should probably going during the daytime. Just a great exhibit of what a man with a vision can accomplish. If you stop by get some lunch at Local on the way.

We visited this place over 50 years ago and wanted to see it again with a group. Enjoyed the visit but not really worth the effort if you have something else to do.

A great site to see. I came here when the center was closed, but there are some informational signs outside that explain the history of the artwork.
