If you want a hike with gorgeous breathtaking views of LA then this is it! Thanks to my friend who did some research this past weekend, I went on one of the most beautiful hikes ever. The best part was that the storm had just passed and so the sky was clear and the view of downtown LA was breathtaking! Parking is easy and free, you have to drive into the park and once you arrive at the end theres a parking lot right in front of the hiking path. Once you start hiking, theres an immediate uphill climb which can seem daunting but its completely worth it! Theres numerous benches along the hike so you can take breaks and relax to take in the gorgeous views. Theres also a fish pond in the middle of the park thats quite beautiful and scenic to take photos of. Overall the hike is about 5 miles round trip but theres various paths so you can always wander off and explore different areas of the park.

Nice place to hike and relax. Oct.9 1978, Their were three boys fishing in the lake on top. My girl friend and I were sitting on hill top when heard boys yelling. So we looked over the hill and saw a 11 year old in the middle of the pond under the water and the boys said “help him”. I ran down and jumped in. The bottom is flat and then drops down over my head. Then I swam over to the boy. He was still not moving and when I retrieved him I expecting a fight for air. No resistance. I kept his head above the water. My thoughts of CPR training was coming back to me from days when I was in the Scouts and ROTC. I got him to shore and started to clear air way. And he start to chock, couch and spit out his lunch. There were no phones up there to call for help. When the color came back to face and he was able walk. I drove him home with friends.

We tried out this trail on Easter Sunday.... We took the gold line almost right there which was awesome. After walking thru the park and across the freeway you come to the entrance, a short trail up leads the Audubon Center which was closed but the gate was open. It seems like a great place especially for kids, theres ponds and nature playground. The walk up to the summit is on a long slowly upward dirt road. There isnt much shade on the trail so I wouldnt come in the middle of the day or when its super hot. The view from the very top is beautiful with all the buildings of DTLA off in the distance. Its a pretty good beginners hike, and you can bring your pup, just make sure to bring water.

A little different than expected… First off, got lost using my GPS coming here and managed to go up to a dead end up in the mountains that was connected to the part of the park as told by the homeowners who lived there. Make sure you look at directions in the website and not follow your trusty GPS. Second, it was an empty in that there was not much people hiking, just like a handful and it was a Sunday. This can be good or bad, but just felt a little weird to us. Good part was there was parking and we didn’t have to park in the street. Not much scenic views, but dead trees here and there and views of the LA.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown Los Angeles, lies a very peaceful and serene education center and hiking trail. Excellent views of downtown Los Angeles, Southwest Museum and Highland Park. Although it is not a manicured and touristy kind of hiking trail, it is a peaceful walk with good variety of flowers and color, with hummingbirds, butterflies, ducks and turtles in the pond on the trail and a beautiful zen lilly pond outside the Visitor Center. Make sure to stop in the Visitor Center to check out the snakes and get information about the park and education opportunities.

One of my favorite places to go hiking in LA! There is parking as you go past the park gates. Before the trails, there is a huge BBQ grassy area which is nice for picnics and gatherings. When you go up the trail, it leads you to a nice little lake. It was such a hidden gem. You can take many different trails where you can see beautiful city views. I hiked over 4 miles the first time I came here! There is also wildlife here and animals like coyotes, so just be on the look out. Im definitely coming back here again without a doubt!

Depending what part of this park you roam youll have some sweet views trust we cyclist know, one of my favorite spots is just by n off the pond for recreational purposes, avoiding people while reading a book n mesmerizing bout life, people, n situations, all while taking the scenery of DTLA or the sky. Ive still havent explore the full extent of this park but I love this park definitely

WARNING: the address sends you to a dead-end dirt trail. The sweetest middle aged women came out and said that it happens all the time and she had a stack of written directions for people, she was so sweet. The park its self was nice. It had a pretty little lake, but was overall small. Summary: Good hike, not that large and careful with directions.

This is a lovely local park with a variety of terrain. It is kept clean, is usually not too crowded, & has ample parking. It is wonderful for gatherings with family, friends, or other groups & great for birthday parties. Many people walk their dogs at this park. There are also a few hiking trails and some water (like a large pond or small lake).

The park is between south Pasadena, and east side of Los Angeles. Next to the 110 freeway and surprise that I never hear of this park despite live not too far from here. The park js quite decent has good amount of hiking a like but isnt too difficult and is a great park for dogs.

I have come here to play disc golf and the course is aweso.e and hidden nicely. Ive only seen a couple people go the dozen times Ive gone so no pressure on first timers. The trash cans are located well because drinking is necessary. So come Down and try the hole with good views.

I live in Highland Park and my girlfriend lives in Monterey Hills. I had started to sense a large municipal park between us. I opened Google Maps and there it was - Ernest E. Debs Park. I am relieved. We are going hiking here tonight. I think we will find happiness.

Been enjoying this park since I was a kid. Although it could get a little loud at times on weekends and holidays, the park is big enough to find a quieter place. Nice natural setting in the middle of a residential community.

Worst park ever. I came here in the early morning following the Google Map (MISLEADING) and it took me all the way to the dirt road where I did not have any access to the park itself, let alone a parking spot. Disappointed.

Small but nice trail for hiking or mountain biking. I like coming here to get a quick short work out my mountain bike. All trails leads up to a small lake on top of the hills. Very little shade so come early.
