if you had a basement in your house and wanted to have some friends over to put in a show, this would be it. its a cool total hole-in-the-wall that you wont find easily unless the parking lot security guard directs you. the entrance is in a building just west of astro burger and in the back with a green door. that said, there is a cool stage and the sound system is adequate for the place. they have two portable AC units going so that should help but i can still see this place getting hot in the summer. no booze, only soda and water. parking is slim. i would look for street parking on gower north of melrose. but a cool venue and it is actually decent sounding. not too live though it can get loud because its not big. if you have 100 people that might be the capacity if you pack people shoulder to shoulder.

In pursuit of happiness, choose experiences over stuff. And in the realm of experiences, try lots of different things. In that group, at least once, try a show at Amplyfi, and get up close to the band in a way thats difficult in most spaces, and immerse yourself in the closeness, and if you dont come away from the experience with a sense of joy and happiness, from having been RIGHT THERE when beautiful music was made, then give it another try on another night. Ive been to shows at Amplyfi three times, and loved every one more than I thought I would. Sure, theyre family, but they work hard to make your band sound good and your friends feel welcome, and you wont regret going to a show at Amplyfi.

The place has a great sound and atmosphere for small bands, but a little hard to find. They could use a big sign. Most bands dont understand that venues need money to continue to operate, and the only way this venue makes money is through ticket sales, so if you feel like you cant sell enough tickets, theres no point in playing anywhere. I sold enough tickets, I was paid out fully, and my fans enjoyed the show. The short set time bothered me, but I understand the venue is around a residential area, so if people run late, then the show is cut short. Either way, I had a great time playing here and would definitely come back.

If youre a BAND this place SUCKS!! If you think youre going to play for free, if you think you get half the door, if you think youll play a full set, YOU ARE SO WRONG. Our band got slapped with $100 playing fee when we arrived, which we were told was free, then we were cut off 20 minutes early didnt get to play a full set with new material at the end, then were told we dont get half of the internet sales, which were discounted from $12 to 10, no wonder they pushed it!!!! This place is a CON - B.S. - BAND RIP OFF - BEWARE - SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

Interesting place. remember the place is reached by the alley in the back. Parking will be a bear and the bands only get a very limited time on stage and then boom on with the next act. Oh yes did mention no booze. That being said it looks like the type of Hollywood dive giggy that it claims to be so choose for yourself.

Small venue. Really loud when bans get going. No booze. Bands are supposed to get in and out.
