Last year we brought out grandkids 5,9 and 10, and they all had a great time. There is a special building where they can put on all sorts of cowboy gear, play in and with the various exhibits, get pictures taken etc. The guards were helpful and very friendly. We just went again last week with my sister and her husband and again had a great time. On a side note for the other poster, I live in OKC,I also can conceal carry and if any business doesnt allow it, its there right. The exhibits are set up superbly. There are numerous exhibits that include a narrative and gives you a feeling of being there. They cover everything about the cowboys, rodeos, the military and our Native Americans. The art exhibit is second to none, and they also have special short term exhibits, where the art is for sale (and not cheap). I would say that if you are a visitor or a resident you should not miss a visit!

了解西部世界很好的场所,但是需要一定的美国历史文化基础和耐心才能有最大收获。如果英语和相应的历史基础一般,不建议去,因为会有相当一部分内容无法理解。博物馆设计不错,文物也很多。 great place to know western world.but to maximum your gain, you need basic knowledge about this period of history. the design of this museum is fantastic, giftshop also excellent.

On Thursday, July 7, I traveled with the bus from the Spanish Cove Retirement Center in Yukon OK to visit this facility. Years ago (probably 20?) I had toured this museum, but its even better now! We had the good fortune to enjoy the recent winners and entries in the "Prix de West" art exhibit, which was a delight! The deli-style cafe (the only available food) was quite good, and well-presented. Staff were gracious and helpful. Only comment was this: why is there no facility for recycling of plastic and for responsible disposal of styrofoam? Seems rather backward-thinking to me, but Ive found that issue with other public facilities as well. Excellent gift shop with attractive and varied items from T-shirts to books to prints of several of the paintings in the museum. You can spend some serious money there.

My family LOVED this Museum. My 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter loved it. We spent about 4 hours and needed another 3. They have a great hands on for the Children. They dressed up in cowboy clothes. Had a camp fire and cooked over an open flame (All pretend of course). They had a western town inside that put you right in the scene of a western town at night. That was fantastic. The rodeo was fun. If you are a Western Movie buff this place is for you. Worth the admission and the gift shop was great. A little something for everyone. The only thing is they do not allow backpack or large diaper bags in. Wish we had a museum like this close to home.

On a Sunday, we arrived at high noon. The staff is friendly and informative. The museum is amazing. The native planted grounds are gorgeous. We were there 4 hours and still saw only half of what we wanted to see. So happy to see child inspired exhibits and things you can touch. I so wanted to take photos...saw one sign stating no. We will go back very soon. Oh...very chilly inside, take a sweater. A must for the bucket list or family outing, or a first date. Thank you Oklahoma and all donors of this project.

If youre in to history, this is definitely a place to visit. Also, if you have young children, they will enjoy it too. I happened to visit during the Chuckwagon Festival, so it was extremely busy. I got the impression that organization was an after thought, as countless visitors and I were misdirected into lines (i.e. member w/ cash, non-member w/ cash to enroll, etc.). The museum (taken by itself) is great.... lots of art, a munitions exhibit, and a theater (I didnt have time to visit the theater).

Not a family or kid friendly place. If you enjoy being yelled at by security guards from across galleries this is the place to go. Army officer was carrying his child in his arms because he was tired (not to control him) and he was told he couldnt carry his child in the museum. If they dont want children or even teens in their museum they should make that a rule too, they have a whole lot of them even unwritten ones. Our group will NEVER go to this place again.

The Cowboy Museum is spectacular in everything it offers. Just plan on spending a few hours so you can see everything. Plus the lunch buffet, for a separate price than the admission, was wonderful on the day we visited. Everything tasted so good! I cant say anything bad about this museum. The staff and volunteers are excellent help and have a wealth of knowledge. This is someplace I can return over and over again to visit.

This is a well curated museum with plenty of displays to interest the Cowboy enthusiast. A thoughtful nod to Native Americans as well as extensive information about cowboying through history, the museum is well put together. Aside from the tremendously entertaining Western Town, there are almost no interactive exhibits so kids might get a little bored if they are accustomed to a more touch and feel museum.

Замечательный музей не только о ковбоях, но и о том как начинались Соединённые Штаты. Экспонаты, картины, скульптуры. Два часа в музее пролетели незаметно! (Билет для взрослого - 12,5$)
