The only reason i give to this fine museum 2 stars is because of the little food section there. The museum by himself is very nice and educational but DO NOT...i repeat...DO NOT go to eat in that little coffee/branch/bagle place there. Why? They simply try to rip you off! The guy was nice and all during our eating time there but when i had to pay, i noticed he hold himself from giving me the recite, so i ask for it anyway. I noticed he charged me for lots of stuff i didnt took and even a whole item i didnt ask for. He apology and all but little he knew that Im not a sucker and i got his little trick/scum. But i am worry that he try that little trick with more than just me. Think about it...8 out of 10 tourists will not pay attention to the recite.... He maybe apology and give the money back without argue at all with 2 tourists, but 8 tourists will loose their money to those guys. The museum is fantastic...highly recommended....but my advice to this museum is to replace the coffee shop guys or even the whole coffee shop business there. Till then, my advice to the tourists....schedule your branch elsewhere...

My rating is not based on the story of the museum or the artifacts contained. We selected an audio tour which is decent to operate but slowly paced. There are numbered items that are discussed in the audio but they tend to be difficult to spot or its not clear where to look to match the story. Overall we enjoyed the history of this family and understanding the hardships forced on this group of people. It is a very sobering experience, especially if you are unaware of events pre and post World War II. I would not recommend bringing children or even adults with short attention spans. Expect at least 2 hours if you do not intend to read too deeply into the exhibits.

Visited this Museum in November and was so impressed! I was reading related literature at the time and was "wowed" by the intertwining of information between the museums displays and the books I was reading at the time. Very kind people, and very well laid out displays! The personal effects from people such as place settings, clothing, etc. were very well preserved. I will definitely go again the next time we are in the area!

Toda la historia de la persecución y de la migración mostrando sus diversas facetas, imprescindible para conocer una parte importante de la cultura judía y su influencia en la ciudad de Nueva York.

This was a great museum! We spent about two and a half hours in here, the exhibits are nicely detailed and the progression is perfect. The first floor goes through Jewish traditions, the second floor is about the horrific events of the holocaust and the third floor details life for Jews after World War Two and what they have done to rebuild their lives and their valuable place in society today.

This was an amazing experience because you just learn so much from the tours! My visit here really gave me a new appreciation for history and it brought home the reality of the Holocaust. My friends and I left here feeling very sad because of the war and its mostly because of the museums atmosphere that we were able to feel such emotion from that one visit. Its a really life changing experience!

A really excellent museum that wont break the bank either. They have a really wonderful collection of items. Just dont get stuck behind a tour, because the tour guides like to perch them in the entrances to all the exhibits so you cant actually see anything until they decide to leave! (Saying "excuse me" also didnt work on the guides...)

Beautiful location close to the water in lower Manhattan. The main exhibit is mostly around the Holocaust. A tragic part of history that is shown in a intriguing way. It is not only the Holocaust that is being addressed, of course culture and other history is also covered. The museum is very well maintained and staff was really kind.

Indrukwekkende stukken om te zien. We hebben ons prima vermaakt hier. Is niet het meest leuke stukje geschiedenis, maar we hadden het gevoel het gezien te moeten hebben.

Beautiful commemoration in a beautiful setting on the water in lower Manhattan. Ive visited the well-done exhibits and attended a number of events here. Everything is done top-rate and professional. Plan on extra time for security - they have airport style screening, but the security staff is much friendlier than TSA ;-)

Great museum, not only they have a great collection and it is very well preserved, but it is also very varied and illustrative. You can get a device which guides you throughout the museum, you can choose what to listen, and is Meryl Streep who narrates! Informative, interesting, emotional and respectful.

Es un buen museo si se busca conocer la historia Judía, su religión, forma de vivir y lo que ocurrió con ellos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial

I am going there tomorrow for my school trip!!!! We are going on a Coach bus (HUGE busses with black windows) instead of a school bus!!! Oh and I am in 8th grade (Age 13) I rate it 5 even though I am not Jewish it looks like it is going to be exiting!!!

Although commanding a prime location near water and amidst plenty of greenery, the museum failed to engage with its dated displays. I did appreciate the remembrance garden. As a whole feels like it needs a refresh to engage more with the public.

One of the best museums in New York City! A great learning tool for kids. Lots of interesting artifacts for holocaust aficionados. Definitely worth the cost of admission. Only downside is it is near financial district and not on museum mile.

I had the opportunity to go this last spring, we arrived panting at the last minute, the people there were so kind to let us go in for free given we wouldnt be able to see it whole. It was beautiful and educational.

I love this museum that offers very beautifully curated exhibits in addition to lovely spaces to just take time to meditate and look out at the Statue of Liberty. Cant wait to get back to NYC And visit the museum.

I thought the experience was great. Our guide was a Holocaust survivor, and he gave us more insight then any plaque could. The museum was very well done, and an absolute recommendation.

I have been to many Jewish museums in the US and unfortunately I found this one to be underwhelming. Worth visiting if you havent been to many others but it doesnt compare.

Me and my family went to the museum for the first time back in1967 on my grandfathers birthday. I will always remember that day as one of the best I can remember.

Emotionally draining and educational experience. You need to spend hours here to fully appreciate everything on each floor. (especially the 2nd floor).

Take the time to go down to Battery Park City -- worth the visit. A beautiful and poignant and thought provocative site. Terrific public programs.

More of a Holocaust museum than a Jewish museum but amazing nonetheless. They have so much cool history like old nazi passports and first hand stor.
