The place was is always packed whenever Ive been there for a show. Its just an open area as far as the venue is concerned. The sound was a tad muffled I thought - not *bad* but not the best. The performance area is essentially a plain black-walled room. It works, but it couldve used perhaps a bit of personality? Anyhow, theres a bar area as you walk in, and then past coat check, theres a door to enter into the performance venue. Tucked inside to the left youll find a smaller bar area as well - just in case you dont want to bother to go out after the show has started. Nice gesture. My main complaint though was the temperature. Goodness it was a sauna in there. There were so many bodies in there (show was sold out) and I couldnt understand why they couldnt get a bit more air circulating? Hard to be too upset with live music though - at least it wasnt a ridiculously tiny space. Bonus points for that.

Came here for an early concert last night which was supposed to start at 6:30pm but it didnt start until roughly around 7:30pm. Not sure what the reason was but this caused for the 3 acts to shorten their sets and ultimately the headlining band I was waiting to see was cut off very abruptly so that the next concert could be set up. There were technical difficulties throughout which made the concert experience a bit underwhelming but I do like that the space is small and intimate allowing for great views of the stage. Bar offers limited beers on tap at $8 a pop which is $1 more than I would have expected for a divey place like this but I wouldnt necessarily write off this place from my concert venues to check out. I would give this place another chance to check out indie and up and coming bands again.

A small bar from the outside, with a large backroom great for seeing concerts at. I only find myself going here when there is a show going on, but then again, who wants to go into a bar with a gigantic room for a show just to sit around and stare blankly at one another when there is nothing going on but alcoholism? Bartenders are attentive and have not seen them get snarky with anyone (except for one guy who made some dumb comment to one of the female bartenders and she was having none of it). So yea, check out their website and catch a show and have some drinks while youre at the bar waitiing. You cant regret it.

Catch your favorite band at another music venue. Last night I went to see a friends band perform at mercury lounge but the doorman/bouncer ruined that. He had a horrible attitude with everyone and it was only 9pm. His attitude was so bad that the person with the list at the door told him to relax with his attitude. Going to catch my friends band at another place since this is not the only music venue in NYC. Word of Advice to the owners of Mercury Lounge - The Doorman/Bouncer is the first person that introduces your business to customers and if you hire unexperienced ghetto service expect to lose business

This tiny intimate venue is the perfect place to catch a new band before they get big. The venue has great seating on both sides and is basically standing room only but not in a bad way. The bar is large and the service is swift so you can get right back to the bands. The bathrooms are as clean as youd expect from a place filled with drinking music fans. I love how close you get to the band and how amazing the sound is. One of my top 5 venues in NYC.

I watched my favorite Norwegian singer, Dagny, in this venue mid-2017. Very cozy inside. A small gathering area with a small stage where you are armsreach away from your idol. In fact, I would definitely come back here some time just to discover other new promising artists. They didnt have the beer that my boyfriend wanted but they offered something of the same kind and so much better. I wish I had a chance to ask for the beer name.

Really liked this place. Extremely small and intimate. My knees were practically touching the stage. There is a coat check; $2 a piece. The bar is in the front of the venue. The only real downfall of it was the band was not able to leave the stage and come back on for an encore because of the set up. So the just let the audience know ahead of time so everyone wasnt disappointed. Overall, nice, intimate experience.

Fun LES bar where you can catch a good concert. One floor with a decent size stage can fit a good amount of people. Very unpretentious bar where you can enjoy yourself with friends or get into a mosh pit during the concerts if you are into that. However, note to all: avoid restrooms at all costs towards the end of the nigh or be sure to take a shot of liquid ignorance before you go there.

Mercury Lounge is a great venue to catch an up-and-coming (or established) band. The space is intimate, but not cramped, the stage is at the perfect level, and the sound is good. Whether youre right up front or taking it easy on one of the seats on the side, you can enjoy yourself. The bartenders in the front are quick and friendly, and drinks arent horridly expensive.

Mercury Lounge is an amazing venue to check out up and coming bands for low prices. Also, Mercury Lounge is the main box office to purchase tickets to any of the Bowery Presents venues with none of those annoying extra surcharge fees. If you are looking for a low-key vibe and fun atmosphere for a relatively low price, definitely check out Mercury Lounge!

I think its a great place to see music, but a difficult place to be in. The "security" at the front is completely unreasonable, acting as if they are running admission into Fort Knox; the bar area is generally overcrowded, and the venues are too. Great artists play here, and want to play here, which is the only thing the venue has going for it.

I usually go here for live shows and they always show loal acts along with a lot of up and coming bands. I always favored small venues because the shows would be more intimate so dont skip this venue. Also its cheap to catch a show so you may find a future gem preform before they make it big to expensive venues like MSG!

Has been around in this area for as long as I can remember. It offers the locals a great place to hang out on a Friday night and just kick back with friends. Its nice, its a great place to get together. The staff is friendly and always willing to converse with the customers. Place is not too expensive depending on time.

They get some big names in this little club! The staff is friendly and informative. You can buy tickets for other shows here too, so if youre nearby and dont want to go through ticketmaster you should drop in. The back room is the perfect size where even from the back you feel close to the band.
