R is in the movies...err, movie theater! this AMC used to be for chumps...post-renovation...its for champs! the theater itself is bright clean and everything feels new from the concession stand on the ground floor to the bathrooms to the theaters. SPOILER ALERT: all seats in this AMC are reservable! so no anxiety needed to buy and stake out premium seats as all seats are relatively great viewing experiences bc there are less seats in each theater in this AMC. you can buy tickets at the actual box office like your grandpappy OR you can buy and reserve seats via Fandango, AMCs app, etc. there are self-serve ticket machines to pick up/print tickets or to bypass the human interaction of buying tickets themselves. the MACHINES have risen in the movie theaters--BEWARE! the lobby itself is shiny, clean, and where the concessions stand is. lines can build, so id stake out your seats first and then get your popcorn, candy, soda, etc. since you have at least 1/2 hour to kill of trailers and ads before each movie. tickets are collected on the ground floor and there about 5-6 floors of theaters (SPOILER ALERT: it means you can movie hop unless you get caught and thrown out. lol) WARNING: all floors are accessible by escalators. so when they break down it kinda sucks. however given that your fat-ass needs exercise...its all good. haha. dont like that joke? then put down the KitKat and eat a baby carrot. the theaters themselves are on the smaller side. the sound systems are new as the movies audio streams in naturally and feels fairly immersive. the screens are on the smaller side, but the theaters themselves are smaller so no biggie as "the illusion" of viewing cinema on the big screens is maintained as the size ratio & perspective make each seats viewing radius "feel" larger than it actually is. PRO TIP: get the kids-sized popcorn. saves some dollars and is the perfect amount of popcorn. im not a huge popcorn person, but even the small seems like too much fried kernels and a bit too much...its like $8 for a small! the seats? fully reclinable. less seats in each theater because of the recliner seats. the seating is plushy comfortable and looks clean. the chairs all look well-maintained and cleaned regularly. for $17+ bucks, the reserved comfortable seating is awesome and delivers on making the movies an experience again. me likey. AMC generally gets all the big movies year-round, so the movie mix is good. and they stretch out the movie runs of popular flicks so if you dont feel like seeing FF8 (Fate of the Furious) during the opening week...it will likely be there weeks later. you wont many if any indie films, but that makes sense...since that audience pirates all their movies anyway. lol there are bathroom on every other floor along with soda/icee machines so you dont have to run down to the first floor to get your sugar beverages refills on. the staff? small in numbers and work hard to maintain the theater. they are friendly enough. they are working hard bc the theater still looks great. if you have a problem, let them know...they are pretty fast-acting. drops mic cuz im surrounded by sound! p.s.--its subway convenient as well!

We brought 10 tickets online and paid about $200 for Despicable Me 3 at AMC Village 7 66 Third Ave (11th St.), New York, NY 10003. However, we just sat down for less than 5 minutes, the fire alarm got off and we were booted from the theater. After 15 minutes waiting outside under 90 degrees heats, we were told that the theater is shut down for the day. The staff was unprofessional and pushing us and yelling at us. No refund was offered but a coupon was thrown at us. She hands out the coupon as if we were beggars. We paid full price for the reclining seat and booked in advance. This is insulting to customer and I would never go back to that theater again! This experience is unacceptable and concerning. I hope management can investigate through this incident and retrain staff how to handle situation like that. This kind of behavior and attitude would really ruin the company’s brand and reputation. Thank you

I had a very bad experience today(April 8th, 2016) in AMC Village 7 theater in NYC, New York. One of your staff, with a "Wei" in his name card, showed his racism apparently and gave a discrimination towards Asians. He tried to block me out for several times while I have already purchased a ticket. I do not know if he had nothing to do but getting me into trouble. He claimed that it is a new rule that he should check everyones ID even though they purchased through online or kiosk. He blocked out even though he admitted that I am an adult. I think what he did is neither rational nor appropriate. He showed his attitude through the negotiation. I cannot understand why this kind of person can get into your group. Overall, I do not want his apologize, I just strongly recommend Village 7 can fire him, or, at least, give him a punishment. What Wei did is really harmful for your reputation.

I came here to watch a movie when it was absolutely freezing out, regardless, they still made all the people to buy tickets outdoors, unless, they decided to use the one and only machine indoors. Needless to say the lines were ridiculous. Originally, I wished to use one of those gift tickets, but for how it was fcold out I figured it wasnt worth the wait so I simply payed full price. Then, once I entered the theatre it was all worn down, with old raggidy chairs that lean back so far you touch the persons behind you knees. It was dark, but Im pretty sure they were quite filthy too. Cleaning in general didnt seem a thing in a whole theater. Anyways, Ive been to many AMC and Lowes theatres and never experienced such awfulness. They should be paying people to come watch the movies inside and not charge them.

wow is what I can say Ive been too many movie theaters but this one by far is the best wasnt crowded when I went seats where amazing reclining of course snacks are a bit pricey but other than that the theaters are so cozy I felt like I was sitting in a living room watching a giant tv it was great they have reserved seating you can choose before hand online if you want not really required but just always check which movie you are going to see they have a seating chart on the website just to make sure it isnt sold out which I did but when I got there someone was in my seat which was annoying I asked them to kindly move and problem solved lol but guys for real definitely check this theater out Im actually going again this weekend thats how much I love it there lol you wont regret it I promise

First time at this location. Pleasantly surprised they have a separate concessions line for premiere customers like myself. Very small lobby, and people are on top of each other waiting in line for food. Staff was friendly. Went downstairs to theater 1 and became a bit concerned when the previews never started playing.. just a black screen. Everyone just kind of sat there while the staff said they were trying to fix the projector. Fast forward to 40 minutes after the movie was supposed to start, they come back in and say its cancelled, and give everyone a voucher for a free movie. Never ended up seeing the movie. Heard it wasnt great anyway. Just wished they would have made the determination to not play the movie sooner, instead of having everyone sit there wasting their time.
